Abstract

An apparatus and a method for providing a messenger service in an electronic device are provided. In the method, the messenger service with at least one counterpart electronic device is provided. First application setting information is determined during the messenger service. The first application setting information is transmitted to the at least one counterpart electronic device through the messenger service.

Claims

1. A portable communication device comprising:

wireless communication circuitry to establish a communication connection with an external device;

memory to store a first application and a second application, the first application to provide a message service with the external device, and the second application to provide one or more contents to the portable communication device; and

a processor configured to;

display, via a user interface corresponding to the first application, a first indication indicative of the second application;

receive, via the user interface, a first user input with respect to the first indication;

display, via the user interface, a second indication indicative of at least one content of the one or more contents in response to the first user input;

receive, via the user interface, a second user input with respect to the second indication; and

transmit, using the first application, a message including path information to be used by the external device to access the at least one content to the external device.

2. The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the at least one content is stored in the memory, and the processor is configured to:

provide the at least one content to the external device in response to a request including the path information transmitted from the external device.

3. The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the at least one content is stored in a server, and wherein the path information includes a path to the at least one content stored in the server.

4. The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:

display, via the user interface, a third indication indicative of the message, the third indication including information related to the at least one content.

5. The portable communication device of claim 4, wherein the processor is configured to:

receive, via the user interface, a third user input with respect to the third indication; and

present, using the first application or the second application, at least one portion of the at least one content in response to the third user input.

6. The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:

present, as at least part of the user interface, a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion concurrently, the first portion to display at least one previous message corresponding to the external device, the second portion to display a text input received from a user of the portable communication device, and the third portion to display the first indication.

7. The portable communication device of claim 6, wherein the processor is configured to:

present, as at least part of the user interface, a fourth portion concurrently with the first, second, and third portions, the fourth portion to display a third indication indicative of one or more applications to be executed at the portable communication device.

8. The portable communication device of claim 7, wherein the processor is configured to:

receive, via the user interface, a third user input with respect to the third indication; and

display via the user interface, a forth indication indicative of at least one application of the one or more applications in response to the third user input.

9. The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the second application comprises a music application, a travel application, a schedule application, a map application, s stock application, or any combination thereof.

10. A portable communication device comprising:

wireless communication circuitry to establish a communication connection with an counterpart portable communication device;

memory to store a first application and a second application, the first application to provide a message service with the counterpart portable communication device, and the second application to provide one or more contents to the portable communication device; and

a processor configured to;

receive, via the wireless communication circuitry, a message from the counterpart portable communication device corresponding to the first application, wherein path information is included in the message by the counterpart portable communication device, wherein the path information to be used by the portable communication device to access at least one content;

display, via a user interface corresponding to the first application, an indication indicative of the at least one content based at least in part on the message;

receive, via the user interface, a user input with respect to the indication; and

present, using the path information, at least one portion of the at least one content to a user of the portable communication device in response to the user input.

11. The portable communication device of claim 10, wherein the processor is configured to:

perform the presenting using the second application.

12. The portable communication device of claim 10, wherein the at least one content is stored in the counterpart portable communication device, and the processor is configured to:

as at least part of the presenting, access the at least one content via the counterpart portable communication device using the path information.

13. The portable communication device of claim 10, wherein the at least one content is stored in a server, and the processor is configured to:

as at least part of the presenting, access the at least one content via the server using the path information.

14. The portable communication device of claim 13, wherein the at least one portion of the at least one content is to be streamed from the server to the portable communication device.

15. The portable communication device of claim 10, wherein the user interface includes a portion to display at least one previous message received from the counterpart portable communication device, and wherein the indication is displayed as at least part of the portion.

16. A portable communication device comprising:

wireless communication circuitry to establish a communication connection with an external device;

memory to store a first application and one or more second applications, the first application to provide a message service with the external device, and the one or more second applications to be executed in relation with the first application; and

a processor configured to;

display a user interface corresponding to the first application, the user interface including a first indication indicative of at least one second application of the one or more second applications and a second indication indicative of the one or more second applications;

receive, via the user interface, a user input with respect to the first indication or the second indication; and

display, via the user interface, a third indication indicative of one or more contents to be presented using the at least one second application if the user input is received with respect to the first indication.

17. The portable communication device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to:

display, via the user interface, a fourth indication indicative of the at least one second application if the user input is received with respect to the second indication.

18. The portable communication device of claim 17, wherein the processor is configured to:

receive, via the user interface, another user input with respect to the fourth indication; and

display, via the user interface, a fifth indication indicative of at least one content of the one or more contents.

19. The portable communication device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to:

display, via the user interface, a fourth indication indicative of another second application of the one or more second applications if the user input is received with respect to the second indication.
