1. A method comprising:

  • imaging a target location of an anatomy of a patient including a bone to collect image data regarding at least one of a bone size, a bone orientation and a bone shape of the patient;

    displaying based upon the collected image data one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient;

    determining one or more of a size, a shape and an orientation for at least one bone graft based at least in part upon the one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient;

    converting the one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient to a setting for a cutting guide instrument, wherein the setting is one of a plurality of standard settings for the cutting guide instrument, wherein the setting is indicated by a plurality of markings or indicia corresponding to different lengths for the cutting guide instrument, and the setting is selected as a best match to the one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient; and

    fabricating the cutting guide instrument with the setting for performing an osteotomy to form the at least one bone graft to recreate the bone of the target location from a second bone of the patient.
