Diabetes management system
First Claim
1. A method of operating a medicine delivery system comprising:
- establishing, by a mobile controller device, communication with a controller of a portable medicine delivery assembly;
transmitting, by the mobile controller device, one or more commands to administer medicine to a patient to the controller of the portable medicine delivery assembly;
accessing, by a computing system that includes the mobile controller device, maintenance information indicative of at least one maintenance task to be performed with respect to the portable medicine delivery assembly, wherein the maintenance information is indicative of a first deadline for conducting the maintenance task;
accessing, by the computing system, information indicative of a first time period for the maintenance task;
determining, by the computing system, that a current time is within the first time period of the first deadline for conducting the maintenance task;
accessing, by the computing system, location information associated with the maintenance task, wherein the location information indicates one or more optimal locations for performing the maintenance task;
determining, by the computing system, a current location of the mobile controller device;
comparing, by the computing system, the current location of the mobile controller device to the location information associated with the maintenance task to determine that the current location of the mobile controller device is within one of the indicated one or more optimal locations for performing the maintenance task; and
in response to determining that the current location of the mobile controller device is within one of the indicated one or more optimal locations for performing the maintenance task and determining that the current time is within the first time period of the first deadline for conducting the maintenance task, providing, by the mobile controller device, a notification indicative of the maintenance task.

Abstract
A variety of location-based and/or proximity-based features related to diabetes management systems can be used to improve maintenance compliance and/or to provide important information to PWD designated assistance entities (e.g., family, friends, givers, HCPs, emergency medicine providers) under certain conditions. In some cases, a user'"'"'s location can be tracked or determined to trigger and/or time alerts about upcoming maintenance tasks in a way that will increase the likelihood that the PWD will immediately perform the designated maintenance task. In some cases, methods, devices, and systems provided herein can use proximity to non-paired mobile computing devices to deliver data to PWD designated assistance entities.
