1. A solar-powered lamp, comprising:

  • a plurality of radiating extensions each radiating out from a central axis of the lamp when the lamp is in an expanded state, each extension being formed from a plurality of flat panels that are capable of folding relative to each other along lines between respective ones of the plurality of flat panels;

    a flat bottom panel and a flat top panel, wherein the flat bottom panel and the flat top panel are positioned parallel to one another along an axis and are differently sized relative to one another; and

    an electronics assembly contained in a watertight enclosure on the flat top panel and having, electrically interconnected, a solar panel, a rechargeable battery, a printed circuit board, and one or more LEDs arranged to direct light from inside the lamp and out through the flat panels of the plurality of radiating extensions,wherein the lamp is collapsible along the axis, and the flat panels for each of the radiating elements fold relative to each other as the lamp is collapsed.
