1. A method for performing a device-to-device (D2D) communication by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

  • receiving allocation of a resource region for the D2D communication;

    performing a first measurement on the resource region for the D2D communication;

    determining whether the resource region has a discovery signal based on a result of the first measurement;

    performing a second measurement on the resource region when the result of the first measurement indicates the resource region has the discovery signal; and

    adjusting discovery signal transmission periodicity of the UE based on a result of the second measurement,wherein, based on the result of the second measurement being smaller than 10% block error rate (BLER), the discovery signal transmission periodicity of the UE is set to 2 ms,wherein, based on the result of the second measurement being in a range of 10% to 20% BLER, the discovery signal transmission periodicity of the UE is set to 4 ms,wherein, based on the result of the second measurement being in a range of 20% to 30% BLER, the discovery signal transmission periodicity of the UE is set to 8 ms, andwherein, based on the result of the second measurement exceeding 30% BLER, a discovery signal transmission is stopped and the first measurement is performed again until the result of the second measurement is reduced below 10% BLER.
