1. A method of operating a biometric monitoring device, the device comprising a platform configured to receive at least one foot of a user, a plurality of sensors, a memory, and processing circuitry, the method comprising:

  • detecting that the user is standing on the platform;

    measuring, in response to detecting that the user is standing on the platform and based on body-weight data generated by a first one of the sensors, a weight of the user;

    determining, in response to detecting that the user is standing on the platform and based on sensor data generated by a second one of the sensors, a user parameter indicative of the user'"'"'s identification, wherein the second sensor comprises a wireless communication transceiver, and wherein the determining the user parameter comprises determining that a device associated with the user is in the proximity of the wireless communication transceiver;

    comparing the user parameter to a plurality of parameter values respectively associated with a plurality of user profiles stored in the memory;

    comparing the measured weight of the user to a plurality of weight values respectively associated with each of the user profiles;

    identifying the one of the user profiles as corresponding to the user based on the comparison of the user parameter to the parameter values and the comparison of the measured weight of the user to the weight values; and

    updating the identified user profile based on at least one of the measured weight and the user parameter.
