1. An analyte monitoring system comprising:

  • processing electronics configured to receive a signal generated by a transcutaneous analyte sensor having one or more sensor electrical contacts on an ex vivo portion of the transcutaneous analyte sensor; and

    a display operably connected to the processing electronics, wherein the display is configured to display at least one estimated analyte concentration of a host based at least in part on the signal;

    wherein the processing electronics are configured to;

    generate digital data based at least in part on the received signal;

    calibrate at least some of the generated digital data using a first conversion function;

    calibrate at least some of the generated digital data using a second conversion function different from the first conversion function; and

    selecting between the first conversion function and the second conversion function for use in calibrating generated digital data based at least in part on time of day;

    wherein the processing electronics are configured to generate the at least one estimated analyte value based at least in part on the calibrated digital data.
