1. A method of re-apposing soft tissue, the method comprising:
- piercing a portion of the soft tissue with a surgical needle attached to a first end of an elongate mesh suture;
threading the elongate mesh suture through the portion of soft tissue to make a plurality of stiches,wherein the elongate mesh suture comprises;
a second end located away from the surgical needle;
a flat wall having a length extending from the first end to the second end, and a cross-sectional rectangular shape with a uniform width and a uniform thickness that is smaller than the width; and
a plurality of pores extending through the flat wall, wherein each of the plurality of pores has a pore diameter of approximately 200 microns to approximately 4 mm, such that the plurality of pores are adapted to accommodate the portion of soft tissue growing through the flat wall, thereby integrating with the elongate mesh suture.

Abstract
A medical device includes a surgical needle attached to an elongated mesh suture. The suture is constructed of macroporous flat wall that facilitates and allows tissue integration into the suture core subsequent to introduction to the body, thereby preventing suture pull-through and improving biocompatibility.
