A method for suppressing a lung inflammation in a subject, the method comprising the step of administering to the subject a sufficient amount of a tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 25 (TNFRSF25) agonist to expand a population of CD4+ FoxP3+ natural regulatory T (Treg) cells,wherein the agonist is a monoclonal anti-TNFRSF25 agonistic antibody of the IgG isotype.
