1. A drape configured to cover an open-field handheld imager usable outside of the body during a medical procedure, the drape comprising:

  • a frame that is removably mountable to a front portion of an enclosure of the open-field handheld imager, wherein the enclosure comprises an imaging port for imaging light to enter the enclosure located between at least two illumination ports for illumination light to exit the enclosure, wherein the frame comprises a wall that extends in a longitudinal direction of the frame from a front end of the frame to a rear end of the frame and that is configured for at least partial insertion into the front portion of the enclosure of the open-field handheld imager; and

at least one light transmissive component mounted to the wall at the rear end of the frame, wherein the at least one light transmissive component extends across the wall perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction and the wall defines the outer periphery of the at least one light transmissive component, and wherein the at least one light transmissive component forms an exterior surface of the drape, is recessed with respect to the front end of the frame, and is positioned in front of the imaging and illumination ports of the open-field handheld imager when the frame is mounted to the front portion of the open-field handheld imager.
