Abstract

Eye drops containing a β-blocker such as cartelol hydrochloride are improved in the penetration of the β-blocker into the eye and the retention thereof in the eye tissues by the incorporation of a C_3-7 fatty acid such as sorbic acid to the eye preparations.

1. An eye drop comprising a β

-blocker and a C₃-C₇ fatty acid or the salt thereof.

-blocker in the ocular tissues which comprises incorporating a C₃-C₇ fatty acid or the salt thereof into an eye drop containing the β

-blocker.
