Abstract

A main structure that can be constructed using either solid steel assembly (32) or reinforced concrete assembly (33) acts as the main structural component for new and remodel construction. The main structure whether it uses assembly (33) or assembly (32) is comprised of cells of equilateral size and each cell has a passage between inner and outer wall created using this method of construction. The inner wall uses the passages to secure accompanying structures and systems to a wall that use this structural system. The outer wall uses the passages to secure retaining assembly (34) to the structure. Retaining assembly (34) holds a strata of soil to the wall and creates plateaus along face of outer wall. The plateaus created by securing retaining assembly (34) to main assembly'"'"'s (32) or (33) give vegetation a place to be planted and secured to a wall that incorporate the construction method of this invention. The passages between the inner and outer walls also nurture the vegetation attached to a structure built using this invention'"'"'s method of construction by allowing direct access to the roots. By allowing direct access to the roots of the vegetation planted on a structure utilizing the construction method of this invention each plant can receive the optimum amount of irrigation, drainage, and fertilizer.

Claims

1. A method to build freestanding load bearing shear wall that incorporate systems to sustain an ecosystem as an integrated component of said wall constructed using this invention'"'"'s construction method.

3. The wall of claim 1 incorporates a series of attachment points that allow a structure and its various systems to be attached easily to a wall that has been built using this invention'"'"'s construction method.

4. The wall of claim 1 has attachment points that allow a strata of soil to run from the bottom to top of a wall using the construction method, creating plateaus along the face to plant a limitless assortment of vegetation.

5. The wall of claim 1 has tie-downs that are integrated into the retaining mechanism that are used to secure vegetation to a wall as it grows.

6. The tie-downs of claim 5 are also used as attachment points for safety mechanisms used by gardeners to scale and maintain the vegetation incorporated in a structure utilizing this invention.

7. The tie-downs of claim 5 can be converted to hand holds for urban rock climbers and the wall of claim 1 can be a recreation device.

8. The wall of claim 1 has passages between the inner face and outer face of said wall that allow for the micro-care of vegetation growing on said wall using this invention'"'"'s construction method.

9. The passages of claim 8 allow irrigation to be administered to the vegetation of said wall at the root level.

10. The passages of claim 8 provide a variable drainage capacity to meet the needs of the vegetation growing on said wall and any weather that might impact a structure that incorporate said wall.

11. The passages of claim 8 allow fertilizer to be administered individually to the vegetation growing on a structure using said wall in its design

12. The passages of claim 8 are used to route sensors to the roots of vegetation in said wall to monitor their health.

13. The passages of claim 8 allow a structure that incorporates said wall in its design to salvage its waste water by using gray water for irrigation and septic systems for fertilizing.

14. A structure using The wall of claim 1 in its construction can accommodate a wide assortment of vegetation because of the flexibility of a retaining assembly.

15. The retaining assembly of claim 14 can be tailored to meet the needs of the root systems of most species of vegetation

16. The retaining assembly of claim 14 can be made from a wide assortment of materials and made into varying shapes and this gives a designer of a structure sculptural ability when using this construction method.

17. The wall of claim 1 can be built at different orientations to the sun to vary climatic conditions of a site that a structure using this construction method is used.

18. By enclosing the wall of claim 1 behind a glass curtain wall with louvers to control the sun can create a vertical greenhouse.

19. The wall of claim 1 can improve air quality because the vegetation of said wall can lower moderate temperature and filter pollutants due to the characteristics of vegetation.

20. The vegetation of the wall of claim 1 can reduce noise pollution by trapping sound waves in its foliage. Whereby said wall constructed with this invention'"'"'s method of construction creates and nurtures an ecosystem on the vertical plane

2. Said wall uses modular construction methods allowing wall to be constructed from either rigid components or poured from a hardening liquid.
