a phone server for establishing phone and Internet connections to the voice-mail message sources, the phone server being configured to navigate through the voice-mail message sources to make a copy of messages resident on the voice-mail message sources;
an e-mail server for establishing Internet connections to the e-mail message sources, the e-mail server being configured to navigate through the e-mail message sources to make a copy of messages resident on the e-mail message sources;
a message database for holding messages copied from the e-mail and voice-mail message sources; and
a manager server in communication with the user database and the procedures database, the manager server being configured to request that one or both of the phone server and the e-mail server establish Internet connections to the e-mail and voice-mail message sources, the manager server further being configured to pass access and management information from the user database and to pass access routines from the procedures database.

A procedures database holds access routines for the e-mail and voice-mail message sources. A phone server establishes phone and Internet connections to the voice-mail message sources.
