Abstract

An extensible business method for performing research over the internet is presented. A first community web site is provided for a first targeted industry. User profile and feedback information is gathered from the users of the first community web site. The gathered user profile and feedback information from the first community web site is provided to at least one subscribing client of another web site. This method may be duplicated by repeating the above steps to a second targeted industry. In one example, a method for performing on-line consumer research over the internet is implemented comprising the following steps. User reaction of at least one user to at least one advertisement displayed on a first web site is gathered. Then research information is provided to a subscribing client on a second web site, based on the gathered user reaction on the first web site.

Claims

1. A method for performing on-line research over the internet, comprising the steps of:

gathering user reaction of at least one user to at least one advertisement displayed on a first web site; and

providing research information to a subscribing client on a second web site, based on the gathered user reaction on the first web site.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of gathering consumer reaction comprising the step of displaying an advertisement and receiving user rating for that advertisement.

3. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of obtaining user profile information.

4. The method of claim 3 further comprising the step of progressively permitting the user to gain more access to the first web site, when the user has given more user profile information.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of allowing a user to submit user'"'"'s own commercial.

8. The method of claim 5 wherein the step gathering user profile and feedback information comprising the step of displaying an advertisement and receiving user rating for that advertisement.

9. The method of claim 8 further comprising the step of progressively permitting the user to gain more access to the first web site, when the user has giving more user profile information.

6. An extensible business method for performing research over the internet, comprising the steps of:

providing a community web site for a first targeted industry;

gathering user profile and feedback information from the community web site;

providing the gathered user profile and feedback information from the community web site to at least one subscribing client of another web site; and

repeating the above steps to a second targeted industry.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein the first targeted industry is the advertising industry.

10. A method for gathering user reaction to advertisements comprising the steps of:

providing a selectable menu to a user comprising more than one of the following ad media categories;

     1)television ads,

     2)print ads,

     3)radio ads; and

     4) internet ads;

allowing a user to select an ad from one of the above ad categories; and

gathering user rating for the selected ad.
