Personal digital assistant command bar
First Claim
1. A personal digital assistant (PDA) being a hand held computer having a programmed processor, the PDA comprising, a display for displaying icons associated with computer commands, the icons representing virtual buttons associated with computer commands, a touch screen that is sensitive to pressure for generating X-Y voltages depending on the X-Y location being pressed, and a membrane disposed over the touch screen, the membrane having display membrane portions juxtaposed respective icons, pressure upon the display membrane portions applying pressure upon the touch screen generating X-Y voltage levels associated with respective virtual buttons.

Abstract
1) A personal digital assistance (PDA) has a command bar made from a stick-on molded membrane having elevated portions serving as emulated mechanical buttons disposed over a touch sensitive screen that is in part disposed over a display with the mechanical buttons placed juxtaposed respective virtual buttons shown on the display, so that, upon pressing a portion of the membrane generates X-Y voltage levels corresponding to touch screen X-Y coordinates that are in turn associated with virtual button corresponding to computer commands and programs that are launched. The pressing of the emulated mechanical button offers stylus-free operation of the PDA.
