Abstract

A directory management method, and a device, and a program for the directories management, and storage medium for the program directories using terminal equipment connected to a client-server type network. receive a user'"'"'s request to use a directory, locate the directory on the basis of time of the user'"'"'s request to use the directory, and enable the user to use the located directory.

Claims

1. A directory management method comprising the step of:

receiving a user'"'"'s request to use a directory

locating the directory is based on the time information in said request;

enabling the user to use the located directory.

2. A directory management method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the directory is located by referencing alteration schedule information registered in a database.

3. A directory management method as set forth in claim 1 wherein when enabling the user to use the located directory, the directory is shown to said user in such a manner that said user can recognize files stored in said directory.

4. A directory management method as set forth in claim 1 wherein when enabling the user to use the located directory, the directory is shown to the user in a hierarchical structure different from an actual directory hierarchical structure.

5. A directory management method as set forth in claim 1 wherein receiving a user'"'"'s request to create a new directory, the new directory is created, and a subdirectory is created within said new directory by referencing a subdirectory in another directory.

6. A directory management method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising of:

when the user'"'"'s request to use a directory presented by a mobile communication terminal connected to a network, creating the same directory as said extracted directory in said mobile communication terminal;

correlating the directories with each other; and

transferring files in the extracted directory to the directory in the mobile communication terminal.

7. A program for causing a computer to function as a directory management means, comprising:

a receiving means for receiving a user'"'"'s request to use a directory,

a locating means for locating said directory on the basis of time information in the user'"'"'s request to use the directory, and

a display means for displaying the located directory to enable the user to use the located directory.

8. A program as set forth in claim 7 wherein the locating means locates the directory by referencing alteration schedule information registered in a database.

9. A program as set forth in claim 7 wherein said display means displays the directory to the user in such a manner that said user can recognize files stored in the directory.

10. A program as set forth in claim 7 wherein said display means displays the directory to said user in a hierarchical structure that is different from the hierarchical structure of actual directories.

11. A program as set forth in claim 7 further comprising:

a means that, upon receipt of a user'"'"'s request to create a new directory, the new directory is created, and a subdirectory is created within the new directory by referencing a subdirectory in another directory.

12. A directory management device comprising:

a receiving means for receiving a user'"'"'s request to use a directory;

a locating means for locating the directory on the basis of time information in the user'"'"'s request to use the directory; and

a display means for displaying the located directory to enable the user to use the directory.

13. A directory management device as set forth in claim 12 wherein the display means displays the directory to said user in a hierarchical structure that is different from the hierarchical structure of actual directories.

14. A computer accessible storage medium for recording a program for causing a computer to function as a directory management means comprising:

a receiving means for receiving a user'"'"'s request to use a directory,

a locating means for locating the directory on the basis of time information in the user'"'"'s request to use the directory, and

a display means for displaying said located directory to enable the user to use the located directory.
