Abstract

The present invention relates generally to a support structure for fixating a patient to a treatment unit, and especially to a support structure for fixating the patient to a cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit. An embodiment of the support structure (10) comprises a back plate (100) for positioning behind said patient'"'"'s back posterior to said patient'"'"'s heart and a front part (200) for positioning around said patient'"'"'s chest anterior to said patient'"'"'s heart. Further, the front part (200) can comprise two legs (210, 220), each leg (210, 220) having a first end (212, 222) pivotably connected to at least one hinge (230, 240) and a second end (214, 224) removably attachable to said back plate (100). Said front part (200) can further be devised for comprising a compression/decompression unit (300) arranged to automatically compress or decompress said patient'"'"'s chest when said front part (200) is attached to said back plate (100).

Claims

1. A support structure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a patient having a cardiac arrest, comprising:

a back plate (100) for positioning behind said patient'"'"'s back posterior to said patient'"'"'s heart;

a front part (200) for positioning around said patient'"'"'s chest anterior to said patient'"'"'s heart, said front part (200) comprising two legs (210, 220), each leg (210, 220) having a first end (212, 222) pivotably connected to at least one hinge (230, 240) of said front part (200) and a second end (214, 224) removably attachable to said back plate (100), and said front part (200) is devised for comprising a compression/decompression unit (300) arranged to automatically compress or decompress said patient'"'"'s chest when said front part (200) is attached to said back plate (100).

3. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, further comprising at least one arm fastening means (250) arranged for fixating the patient'"'"'s arms.

4. The support structure as recited in claim 3, wherein said arm fastening means (250) is arranged to increase the stability of the support structure in relation to said patient.

5. The support structure as recited in claim 3, wherein said arm fastening means (250) is arranged at the front part (200).

6. The support structure as recited in claim 3, wherein said arm fastening means (250) is arranged to fixate the patient'"'"'s wrists.

7. The support structure as recited in claim 3, wherein said arm fastening means (250) is a strap (250) manufactured of Velcro tape.

8. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein said back plate (100) is arranged to have a curvature, said curvature having a convex surface facing the patient back when in position.

9. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein said back plate (100) is arranged to have at least one handle (110).

10. The support structure as recited in claim 9, wherein said handle (110) is provided by means of a cut-out in said back plate (100) to decrease the weight of said back plate (100).

11. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein each of said legs (210, 220) are arranged to turn around said hinge (230, 240) between a minimum position and a maximum position.

12. The support structure as recited in claim 11, wherein said legs (210, 220) are arranged to resiliently turn around said hinge (230, 240) by means of a resilient member (232, 242).

13. The support structure as recited in claim 12, wherein said resilient member (232, 242) comprises a torsion spring.

14. The support structure as recited in claim 11, wherein the distance between said maximum positions are arranged to correspond to the distance between fixation positions of said back plate (100).

15. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein said leg (210, 220) is attachable to said back plate (100) by means of snap locking.

16. The support structure as recited in claim 15, wherein a shaft-like member (130, 140) is arranged at said back plate (100) and a claw-like member (270, 280) is arranged at said leg (210, 220) to realise said snap locking.

17. The support structure as recited in claim 16, wherein a disengagement member (290, 292) is arranged at said leg (210, 220) to disengage said legs (210, 220) from said back plate (100).

18. The support structure as recited in claim 17, wherein said disengagement member (290, 292) is arranged to disengage said claw-like member (270, 280) from said shaft-like member (130, 140), whereby said leg (210, 220) is removable from said back plate (100).

19. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein said legs (210, 220) are arranged to have at least one handle (216, 226).

20. The support structure as recited in claim 19, wherein said handle (216, 226) is provided by means of a cut-out in said leg (210, 220).

30. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, having a weight less than approximately 6.5 kilogram.

31. The support structure as recited in claim 1 or 2, wherein the diametrical dimension in folded position is approximately 320×

2. A support structure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a patient having a cardiac arrest, comprising:

a back plate (100) for positioning behind said patient'"'"'s back posterior to said patient'"'"'s heart;

a front part (200) for positioning around said patient'"'"'s chest anterior to said patient'"'"'s heart, said front part (200) comprising two legs (210, 220), each leg (210, 220) having a first end (212, 222) pivotably connected to at least one hinge (230, 240) of said front part (200) and a second end (214, 224) removably attachable to said back plate (100), and

a compression/decompression unit (300) arranged to automatically compress or decompress said patient'"'"'s chest when said front part (200) is attached to said back plate (100).

21. The support structure as recited in claim 2, wherein said compression/decompression unit (300) comprises a pneumatic unit (310) arranged to run and control the compression and decompression, an adjustable suspension unit (320) to which a compression/decompression pad (330) is attached and a handle (340) by means of which the position of said pad (330) can be controlled.

22. The support structure as recited in claim 21, wherein said compression/decompression unit (300) is arranged to provide a compression depth in the range of approximately 20-90 millimetres.

23. The support structure as recited in claim 22, wherein said compression depth is in the range of approximately 35-52 millimetres.

24. The support structure as recited in claim 21, wherein said compression/decompression unit (300) is arranged to provide a decompression height in the range of approximately 0-50 millimetres.

25. The support structure as recited in claim 24, wherein said decompression height is in the range of approximately 10-25 millimetres.

26. The support structure as recited in claim 22, wherein the compression frequency is approximately 100 compressions per minute.

27. The support structure as recited in claim 25, wherein the compression force is in the range of approximately 350-700 Newton.

28. The support structure as recited in claim 27, wherein the compression force is in the range of approximately 500-600 Newton.

29. The support structure as recited in claim 23, wherein the decompression force is in the range of approximately 100-450 Newton.

33. A front part for use in a support structure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a patient having a cardiac arrest, comprising two legs (210, 220) each of which comprising a first end (212, 222) pivotably connected to at least one hinge (230, 240) of said front part (200) and a second end (214, 224) removably attachable to a back plate (100), wherein said front part (200) is arranged for positioning around said patient'"'"'s chest anterior to said patient'"'"'s heart and devised for comprising a compression/decompression unit (300) arranged to automatically compress or decompress said patient'"'"'s chest when said front part (200) is attached to said back plate (100).

34. The front part as recited in claim 33, wherein said legs (210, 220) are arranged at said hinge (230, 240) by means of a resilient member (232, 242), whereby said legs (210, 220) are arranged to resiliently turn around said hinge (230, 240) to maximum positions.

35. The front part as recited in claim 34, wherein said resilient member (232, 242) comprises a torsion spring.

36. The front part as recited in claim 34, wherein the distance between said maximum positions are arranged to correspond to the distance between fixation positions of said back plate (100).

37. The front part as recited in claim 33, wherein said leg (210, 220) is arranged to be attachable to said back plate (100) by means of snap locking.

38. The front part as recited in claim 37, wherein a claw-like member (270, 280) is arranged at said leg (210, 220) which is arranged to engage a shaft-like member (130, 140) of a back plate (100) realising said snap locking.

39. The front part as recited in claim 33, wherein a disengagement member (290, 292) is arranged at said leg (210, 220) to disengage said legs (210, 220) from said back plate (100).

40. The front part as recited in claim 39, wherein said disengagement member (290, 292) is arranged to disengage said claw-like member (270, 280) from a shaft-like member (130, 140) of said back plate (100), whereby said leg (210, 220) is removable from said back plate (100).

41. A back plate for use in a support structure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a patient having a cardiac arrest, comprising a shaft-like member (130, 140) arranged to be engaged by means of a claw-like member (270, 280) of a front part (200).

42. A compression/decompression unit for use in a support structure for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a patient having a cardiac arrest, comprising

a pneumatic unit (310) arranged to run and control the compression and decompression;

an adjustable suspension unit (320) to which a compression/decompression pad (330) is attached; and

a handle (340) by means of which the position of said pad (330) can be controlled.

43. The compression/decompression unit as recited in claim 42, wherein said compression pad (330) is configured as a vacuum cup.

44. The compression/decompression unit as recited in claim 42, wherein said compression pad (330) is arranged to have an adhesive layer.

45. A support structure for external treatment of a patient'"'"'s body part, comprising:

a back plate (100) for positioning posterior of said body part;

a front part (200) for positioning anterior of said body part, said front part (120) comprising two legs (210, 220), each leg (210, 220) having a first end (212, 222) pivotably connected to a hinge (230, 240) of said front part (200) and a second end (214, 224) removably attachable to said back plate (100), and said front part (200) is devised for comprising a module or treatment unit (300) arranged to automatically and externally perform treatment of said patient'"'"'s body part when said front part (200) is attached to said back plate (100).
