Abstract

The invention relates to arranging a nutrition and medication information service so that a database arrangement is generated, which comprises at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one gene influencing at least one health property with a certain probability, and at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability. In the invention, information related to the user is further delivered to the database arrangement. The invention also relates to a method and arrangement, in which at least one gene from the user'"'"'s genetic map is compared with the genetic map information in the database arrangement, and the probability weighting coefficient is selected between the said gene, which gene is both in the user'"'"'s genetic map and in the database arrangement, and at least one health property, which the said gene influences, and further, the probability weighting coefficient is selected between the said health property and at least one nutrient and/or medical substance, which influences the said health property either in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability. After this, the information describing the suitability of the said nutrients and/or medical substances for the user can be formed with the help of the said probability weighting coefficients.

Claims

1. Method for arranging a nutrition and medication information service, characterised in that

a database arrangement is created, which comprises at least one probability weighting coefficient to at least one gene influencing at least one health property with a certain probability, and at least one probability weighting coefficient to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability,

information related to the user is delivered to the said database arrangement,

at least one gene from the user'"'"'s genetic map is compared with the genetic map information of the database arrangement, and the probability weighting coefficient is selected between the said gene, which gene is both in the genetic map of the user and in the database arrangement, and at least one health property, to which the said gene influences, and

the probability weighting coefficient is selected between the said health property and at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing the said health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability, and

information describing the suitability of the said nutrient and/or medical substance for the user is formed with the help of the said probability weighting coefficients.

2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the database arrangement further comprises at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one pair to be selected from the following group:

at least one gene together with at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influences at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability, and the user is allergic to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance with a certain probability.

Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the nutrients and/or medical substances, which influence the said health property in a healing or harmful manner with some probability and the probabilities related to the these nutrients and/or medical substances were used when defining the information describing the suitability of the said nutrient and/or medical substance to the user, are arranged to such an order that the nutrient and/or medical substance, which has the highest probability to have a healing effect on the said health property, is placed as the most important.

4. Method according to claim 1 or 3, characterised in that information describing the suitability of the nutrient to the user with the help of data terminal equipment.

5. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the said information related to the user is selected from a group comprising:

the user'"'"'s identifier information (ID), at least part of the user'"'"'s genetic map, the user'"'"'s weight, the user'"'"'s length, the user'"'"'s gender and/or the user'"'"'s age.

6. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that information related to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance consumed or intended to be consumed by the user is delivered with the help of data terminal equipment.

Method according to claim 1, characterised in that, besides nutrient information and/or medical substance information consumed by the user, the data terminal equipment is used for delivering the amounts of the nutrients and/or medical substances, and that the nutrition information and/or medical substance information of the nutrients and the amounts consumed by the user are registered to the said database arrangement cumulatively and so that they can be combined with the user'"'"'s identifier information.

8. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the database arrangement further comprises information about the optimal quantity proportions of at least two nutrients and/or medical substances.

9. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the database arrangement further comprises information about which at least one foodstuff contains the at least one nutrient included in the database arrangement.

Method according to claim 1, characterised in that individualised intake limits are set to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance and a notification is formed, if the cumulative amount of the said nutrient and/or medical substance during a predetermined time period is higher or lower than the said individualised intake limit defined for the user.

Method according to claim 1 or one of the claims 7-10, characterised in that a combination is formed of at least two probability weighting coefficients between nutrients and/or medical substances health property and different genes, which genes are also found in the user, to whom the result of the calculation is formed, the value of the combination being closest to the best value, and a dose comprising the nutrients and/or medical substances best suitable for the user is formed by picking the nutrients and/or medical substances, to which the probability weighting coefficients are related, with which the best value was formed.

12. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the cumulative amounts of substances of nutrients and/or medical substances consumed by the user within the selected period of time are compared with the intake limits set for the said nutrients and/or medical substances;

at least one nutrient or medical substance is selected, the cumulative amount of which in the said period of time is not within the area of the predetermined intake limit, and if the value of the probability weighting coefficient for the said substance influencing a certain health property in a healing manner, is above the predetermined limit, the said nutrient and/or medical substance is suggested to be taken by the said user.

13. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that comparing, selecting, combining and/or forming the said information is performed at least partly with the help of neurofuzzy systems.

14. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that comparing, selecting, combining and/or forming the said information is performed at least partly with the help of the Websom method utilising the self-organising map (SOM).

15. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the said probability weighting coefficients are at least partly coefficients obtained from empirical information.

Method according to claim 1, characterised in that in the method at least one party delivers information to the database arrangement with the help of a system utilising a learning method, which system utilising the learning method learns a typical time-bound property of the party for suggesting the said property as a default to the party using the system, the property being at least one of the following:

consumed foodstuff, consumed drink composition, consumed nutrient and/or medical substance, information describing environmental conditions and performed physical performance.

17. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that in the method information is delivered to the database arrangement at least partly with the help of a graphic system.

18. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that in the method information is delivered to the database arrangement with at least one of the following systems:

with the help of a mobile station, PDA device, smart card, magnet card, via the Internet, via digital television, by dictating on phone, by letter and fax.

19. System for arranging nutrition and medication information service, characterised in that the system

comprises a database arrangement, comprising at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one gene influencing at least one health property with a certain probability, and at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability,

comprises means for delivering information related to the user to the said database arrangement,

is arranged to compare at least one gene from the user'"'"'s genetic map with the genetic map information of the database arrangement and to select the probability weighting coefficient between the said gene, which gene is found both in the user'"'"'s genetic map and in the database arrangement, and at least one health property, influenced by the said gene, and further

is arranged to select the probability weighting coefficient between the said health property and at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing the said health property either in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability, and

is arranged to form information describing the suitability of the said nutrient and/or medical substance for the user with the help of the said probability weighting coefficients.

20. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the database arrangement also comprises at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one group to be selected from the following group:

at least one gene together with at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influences at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability, and the user is allergic to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance with a certain probability.

System according to claim 19 or 20, characterised in that the system is arranged to arrange the nutrients and/or medical substances influencing the said health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability, and the probabilities relating to the said nutrients and/or medical substances used in defining the information describing the suitability of the said nutrient and/or medical substances for the said user to such an order that the nutrient and/or medical substance, which has the highest probability to have a healing effect on the said health property is set as the most important.

22. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system comprises at least one data terminal equipment, with which information related to at least one nutrient and/or medical substance taken or intended to be taken by the user is delivered to the database arrangement.

23. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system is arranged to register the amounts of the nutrients and/or medical substances taken by the user cumulatively and so that they can be combined with the user'"'"'s identifier information.

24. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the database arrangement further comprises information about the optimal quantity proportions of at least two nutrients and/or medical substances.

25. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the database arrangement further comprises information, which at least one foodstuff has at least one nutrient included in the database arrangement.

System according to claim 19, characterised in that the database arrangement comprises individualised intake limits for at least one nutrient and/or medical substance, and that the system is arranged to form a notification, if the cumulative amount of the said nutrient and/or medical substance in a predetermined time period is either above or below the individualised intake limit defined for the user of the said nutrient and/or medical substance.

System according to claim 19 or one of the claims 23-26, characterised in that the system is arranged to calculate a combination of at least two probability weighting coefficients between nutrients and/or medical substances health property and different genes, which genes are also found in the user, to whom the result of the calculation is formed, the value of the combination being closest to the best value, and a dose comprising the nutrients and/or medical substances best suitable for the user is formed by picking the nutrients and/or medical substances, to which the probability weighting coefficients are related, with which the best value was formed.

System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system is arranged to compare the cumulative substance amounts of the nutrients and/or medical substances consumed by the user within a selected time period to the intake limits set for the said nutrients and/or medical substances, to select at least one nutrient or medical substance, the cumulative amount of which in the said time period is below the defined intake limit, and if the value of the probability weighting coefficient for the said substance influencing a certain health property in a healing manner is above the preset limit, to suggest the said nutrient and/or medical substance to be consumed by the said user.

29. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system is arranged to compare, select, combine and/or form the said information at least partly with the help of neurofuzzy systems.

30. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system is arranged to compare, select, combine and/or form the said information at least partly with the help of the Websom method utilising the self-organising map (SOM).

System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system comprises a system utilising the learning method for delivering the information of at least one party to the database arrangement, the system utilising the learning method being arranged to learn a typical time-bound property of the party for suggesting the said property as a default to the party using the system, the property being at least one of the following:

consumed foodstuff, consumed drink composition, consumed nutrient and/or medical substance, information describing environmental conditions and performed physical performance.

32. System according to claim 19, characterised in that the system comprises at least one of the following means for delivering the information to the database arrangement:

a mobile station, PDA device, smart card, magnetic card, Internet browser, and digital television.

33. Software product for arranging the nutrition and medication information service, characterised in that the software product

comprises a database arrangement comprising at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one gene influencing at least one health property with a certain probability, and at least one probability weighting coefficient for at least one nutrient and/or medical substance influencing at least one health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability;

comprises means for delivering the information related to the user to the said database arrangement;

is arranged to compare at least one gene from the user'"'"'s genetic map to the genetic map information of the database arrangement and to select the probability weighting coefficient between the said gene, which gene is both in the user'"'"'s genetic map and in the database arrangement, and at least one health property, influenced by the said gene; and

further,

is arranged to select the probability weighting coefficient between the said health property and at least one nutrient and/or medical substance, influencing the said health property in a healing or harmful manner with a certain probability; and

is arranged to form the information describing the suitability of the said nutrient and/or medical substance for the said user with the help of the said probability weighting coefficients.
