Abstract

The object of this invention is to provide a simple, safe, convenient and economical means of securing catheters, feeding tubes and other types of medical tubing devices to or at a human or other animal body by suturing, tying or taping to a tubular depression-shaped portion that is integrally formed during manufacture with the forming of the overall medical tube resulting in a one-piece construction unit.

Claims

1. A means for securing a tubular conduit to or at a patient'"'"'s body in order to prevent or restrict any movement or displacement of said tubular conduit while in or at the patient'"'"'s body comprising a tubular depression-shaped member of said tubular conduit capable of retaining sutures, ties, tape or other fastening means.

2. The means of claim 1 whereby said tubular depression-shaped member is integrally formed during manufacture with the forming of said tubular conduit resulting in a one-piece construction unit.

3. The means of claim 1 and claim 2 whereby said tubular depression-shaped member is configured as an hourglass-type shaped design, radial collar design, radial groove design or other structural depression-shaped configuration for said retention and fastening purposes.
