- passing an aerosol through a plasma surface modified nonwoven polymeric web electret to remove contaminants from the aerosol, the nonwoven polymeric web comprising plasma surface fluorination, the electret, when tested according to the Initial DOP Penetration Test and the DOP Loading Test prior to contact with the aerosol, exhibiting a DOP penetration of less than 20% for a DOP load from 0.05 grams to 0.2 grams.
