Abstract

This invention discloses a method of orally administering arachidonic acid for the purpose of increasing the serum level of the prostaglandin PGF2alpha and subsequently the level of retained skeletal muscle mass.

Claims

1. A method for increasing muscle mass, which method comprises administering orally to a human in need of such treatment an amount of arachidonic acid which is effective in raising the level of the endogenous prostaglandin PGF2 alpha.
