Abstract

A method for concealing displayed confidential information includes providing one or more publically accessible displays and one or more private displays, receiving confidential information, displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the private display, and displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display for an amount of time determined by an occurrence of an event where the event includes at least one of an expiration of a time period and a user request. The method can also include sending a notification signal where the notification signal can be sent to a health care professional and storing at least a portion of the confidential information. The method can also include concealing at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display where the concealing step is responsive to a user request.

Claims

1. A method for concealing displayed confidential information comprising the steps of:

providing at least one publically accessible display and at least one private display;

receiving confidential information;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the private display; and

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display for an amount of time determined by an occurrence of an event;

wherein said event includes at least one of an expiration of a time period and a user request.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising the step of sending a notification signal.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein said notification signal is sent to a health care professional.

4. The method according to claim 1, further comprising the step of storing at least a portion of the confidential information.

5. The method according to claim 1, further comprising the step of concealing at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display, wherein said concealing step is responsive to a user request.

6. A method for concealing displayed confidential information comprising the steps of:

providing at least one publically accessible display and at least one private display;

receiving confidential information;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the private display; and

concealing at least a portion of confidential information at the publically accessible display.

7. The method according to claim 6, further comprising the step of sending a notification signal.

8. The method according to claim 6, wherein said notification signal is sent to a health care professional.

9. The method according to claim 6, further comprising the step of storing at least a portion of the confidential information.

10. The method according to claim 6, wherein said concealing step is based on at least one of an expiration of a time period and a user request.

11. A system for concealing displayed confidential information comprising:

an input system for receiving confidential information;

a first display communicably coupled to said input system for displaying at least a portion of the confidential information to a patient;

a second display communicably coupled to said input system for displaying at least a portion of the confidential information; and

wherein at least said first display is configured to conceal at least a portion of the confidential information.

12. The system according to claim 11, wherein said input system includes at least one input device.

13. The system according to claim 11, further comprising at least one wireless transceiver for at least one of sending and receiving at least a portion of the confidential information.

14. The system according the claim 11, further comprising a housing for supporting said input system and said first display, wherein said second display is remotely located from said housing.

15. A machine readable storage, having stored thereon a computer program having a plurality of code sections executable by a machine for causing the machine to perform the steps of:

providing at least one publically accessible display and at least one private display;

receiving confidential information;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the private display; and

concealing at least a portion of confidential information at the publically accessible display.

16. The machine-readable storage of claim 15, further comprising:

sending a notification signal, wherein said notification signal is sent to a health care professional.

17. The machine-readable storage of claim 15, further comprising:

storing at least a portion of the confidential information.

18. The machine-readable storage of claim 15, wherein said concealing is based on at least one of an expiration of a time period and a user request.

19. A machine readable storage, having stored thereon a computer program having a plurality of code sections executable by a machine for causing the machine to perform the steps of:

providing at least one publically accessible display and at least one private display;

receiving confidential information;

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the private display; and

displaying at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display for an amount of time determined by an occurrence of an event;

wherein said event includes at least one of an expiration of a time period and a user request.

20. The machine-readable storage of claim 19, further comprising sending a notification signal, wherein said notification signal is sent to a health care professional.

21. The machine-readable storage of claim 19, further comprising storing at least a portion of the confidential information.

22. The machine-readable storage of claim 19, further comprising concealing at least a portion of the confidential information at the publically accessible display, wherein said concealing step is responsive to a user request.
