Abstract

An object is to provide a charging system in which a battery can be charged in a fully charged state or close to the fully charged state while preventing performance deterioration of a battery due to heat generated during charge. A charging system 1 for a battery-set of the invention includes a temperature detecting device 15, a charging device 12 and a control device 13 for controlling the charging device 12 based on a battery temperature. The control device 13 carries out a temperature feedback charge with “a quantity function of a temperature” (ΔT/Δt) as a target value (Y). With the system, it is possible to charge the battery in the fully charged state or close to the fully charged state while preventing the performance deterioration of the battery due to the heat generated during the charge.

5. A charging system for charging a battery-set, comprising:

a temperature detecting device for detecting a battery temperature of the battery-set,

a charging device for charging the battery-set with a charge current, and

a control device electrically connected to the temperature detecting device and the charging device for controlling the charging device based on the battery temperature and performing a temperature feedback charge to continuously control the charge current of the charging device with a quantity representing the temperature as a target value,

wherein said control device controls the charging device such that the charge current becomes zero when the charge current becomes below a predetermined current value or after a predetermined time is elapsed since the charge current becomes below the predetermined current value or when the battery temperature reaches a predetermined temperature value or when the battery temperature increases by a predetermined increasing value after the battery temperature reaches the predetermined temperature value.

A charging system for charging a battery-set according to claim 5, wherein said control device includes a calculating portion for obtaining a time-rate-of-change of the battery temperature, a charging rate operation portion for obtaining a charging rate of the charging device, and an average value operation device for obtaining an average of the battery temperature.

6. A charging system for charging a battery-set, comprising:

a temperature detecting device for detecting a battery temperature of the battery-set,

a charging device for charging the battery-set with a charge current, and

a control device electrically connected to the temperature detecting device and the charging device for controlling the charging device based on the battery temperature and performing a temperature feedback charge to continuously control the charge current of the charging device with a quantity representing the temperature as a target value,

wherein said control device controls the charging device in a temperature feedback control such that the charging device charges the battery set with a current smaller than the charge current when the charge current becomes below a predetermined current value or after a predetermined time since the charge current becomes below the predetermined current value or when the battery temperature reaches a predetermined temperature value or when the battery temperature increases by a predetermined increasing value since the battery temperature reaches the predetermined temperature value.

A charging system for charging a battery-set according to claim 6, wherein said control device includes a calculating portion for obtaining a time-rate-of-change of the battery temperature, a charging rate operation portion for obtaining a charging rate of the charging device, and an average value operation device for obtaining an average of the battery temperature.

7. A charging system for charging a battery-set, comprising:

a temperature detecting device for detecting a battery temperature of the battery-set,

a charging device for charging the battery-set with a charge current, and

a control device electrically connected to the temperature detecting device and the charging device for controlling the charging device based on the battery temperature and performing a temperature feedback charge to continuously control the charge current of the charging device with a quantity representing the temperature as a target value,

wherein said charge device charges the battery-set formed of a plurality of battery cells, and said temperature detecting device detects the battery temperature based on a part of the battery cells.

A charging system for charging a battery-set according to claim 7, wherein said control device includes a calculating portion for obtaining a time-rate-of-change of the battery temperature, a charging rate operation portion for obtaining a charging rate of the charging device, and an average value operation device for obtaining an average of the battery temperature.

8. A charging system for charging a battery-set, comprising:

a temperature detecting device for detecting a battery temperature of the battery-set,

a charging device for charging the battery-set with a charge current, and

a control device electrically connected to the temperature detecting device and the charging device for controlling the charging device based on the battery temperature and performing a temperature feedback charge to continuously control the charge current of the charging device with a quantity representing the temperature as a target value,

wherein said charge device charges the battery-set formed of a plurality of modules, each being formed of a plurality of battery cells, and said temperature detecting device detects, as the battery temperature, a temperature of one of the modules or a temperature of one of the battery cells, or a temperature based on temperatures of more than two of the modules or a temperature based on temperatures of more than two of the battery cells.

A charging system for charging a battery-set according to claim 8, wherein said temperature detecting device detects an average of temperatures of more than two of the modules, or an average of temperatures of more than two of the battery cells, or a maximum temperature of the plurality of the modules, or a maximum temperature of the plurality of the battery cells as the battery temperature.

A charging system for charging a battery-set according to claim 8, wherein said control device includes a calculating portion for obtaining a time-rate-of-change of the battery temperature, a charging rate operation portion for obtaining a charging rate of the charging device, and an average value operation device for obtaining an average of the battery temperature.
