- a first device, coupled to measure an acceleration of a first object suspended from a second object, the first device generating a first signal representing the acceleration of the first object;
a second device, coupled to measure an acceleration of the second object, the second device generating a second signal representing the acceleration of the second object; and
a processor in communication with the first and second devices, the processor operable to determine a sway of the first object with respect to the second object based at least in part on the first and second signals, the sway representing a relative displacement of the first object with respect to the second object.

Systems, methods and computer program code for the measurement and control of sway in load transportation systems are provided which include using Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices to measure and control the sway of suspended loads such as loads suspended from cranes.
