Abstract

A control system including control devices with each control device including a control unit and a display device connected with the control unit via a dedicated communication line and being capable of display corresponding to a control state of the control unit. The display device includes a communication port connected with a control unit and a communication port connected with a data processing device, and a data processing section. Further, the data transmission method includes a dedicated protocol communication transmitting data with a processing device and a common protocol communication transmitting data with another processing device. In addition, the control-host computer used in the control system includes a control unit controlling a control target and a display device.

Claims

1. A control-use host computer, used in a control system, comprising:

a control unit for controlling a control target;

a display device that communicates with said control unit via a dedicated network so as to display or control a control state of said control unit and that, in the case where a common network apart from said dedicated network has a communication protocol different from that of said dedicated network, converts one of the protocols into the other protocol, wherein said control-use host computer connected with said display device via said common network, comprises an interface section that sends data streams containing instruction contents for said control unit via said common network to said display device connected with said control unit.

2. The control-use host computer as set forth in claim 1, further comprising:

a plurality of transmission control sections that are provided between said interface section and a host-side display section for controlling or displaying a state of said control target and that controls said interface section in response to a request from said host-side display section so as to transmit or receive data for controlling or displaying the state of said control target,

wherein one of said transmission control sections is a simple transmission control section that is capable of specifying the request through a simpler procedure than the other transmission control section does.

3. A recording medium storing a program that directs a computer to function as a control-use host computer (7) used in a control system (1), said control system (1) including:

a control unit (2) for controlling a control target (9);

a display device (3) that communicates with said control unit (2) via a dedicated network (4) so as to display or control a control state of said control unit (2) and that, in the case where a common network (6) apart from said dedicated network (4) has a communication protocol different from that of said dedicated network (4), converts one of the protocols into the other protocol; and

said control-use host computer (7) connected with said display device (3) via said common network (6),

said recording medium storing a program that directs said computer to function as an interface section (51) that sends data streams containing instruction contents for said control unit (2) via said common network (6) to said display device (3) connected with said control unit (2).
