Abstract

Disclosed is a user history based multimedia service system, wherein user history data include a multimedia consumption type and/or consumption behavior of the user. The consumption type data includes a start time or end time of the multimedia content consumption (i.e., simple view data), content recording time and format, content backup time and format, and content transfer time and format. The consumption behavior data includes a content access/play data such as a normal finish, skimmed, skipped, slowed, or replay, and a stopped data of the content access/play. The consumption type or consumption behavior data include information on program identification and information on access to the consumption type/consumption behavior data. The respective data is provided for each user and program.

Claims

1. A user history data structure, comprising:

a user information for identifying each user; and

at least one user action data, the user action data including at least one user action type, and an occurrence time for indicating a total number of occurrences corresponding to each user action type; and

an automatic update information for setting whether the user action data for the user is automatically updated.

2. The structure of claim 1, wherein the user action data further includes a data protection information for indicating whether the user desires to keep the user action data for the user private.

3. The structure of claim 2, wherein the user action data further includes an operation time when each user action took place.

4. The structure of claim 2, wherein the user action data further includes an operation time describing a time when an action takes place or a duration thereof, a program identifier describing a unique identifier of a program associated with said action, and a content reference referencing related metadata of a multimedia content associated with said action.

5. A method for describing user history data, comprising:

describing a user information for identifying each user; and

describing at least one consumption or behavior data, the consumption or behavior data including at least one consumption or behavior type, and an occurrence time for indicating a total number of occurrences corresponding to each consumption or behavior type; and

describing an automatic update flag for setting whether the consumption or behavior data for the user is automatically updated.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising describing a data protection flag for indicating whether the user desires to keep the consumption or behavior data for the user private.

7. A method for describing user action history, comprising:

describing a period of time when a user has carried out user actions to be recorded; and

describing user actions using a plurality of user action type, wherein each user action is associated with an operation time describing a time when an action takes place or a duration thereof, a program identifier describing a unique identifier of a program associated with said action, and a content reference referencing multimedia content or related metadata.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising describing an automatic update flag for setting whether the user action history is automatically updated.

9. The structure of claim 8, further comprising describing a data protection flag for indicating whether the user desires to keep the user action history for said user private.
