17. A method of using a keypad access and vehicle control system, comprising:

providing a keypad having (a) a housing having a front side, a back side, and side members, the front side having a flange adapted for mounting to a vehicle, (b) a plurality of buttons operatively connected to the housing and recessed in the front side, (c) at least one lighting device associated with each of the plurality of buttons and operatively connected to the housing for providing visual feedback;
receiving an access code from the plurality of buttons comprised of at least one keypress;
determining if the access code is correct and if so, receiving a code associated with at least one vehicle function, the code comprised of at least one keypress and enabled by the access code;
