1. A processing device and display system providing different functions used in delivering healthcare to a patient, comprising:
- a plurality of different individual modules including at least one of;
(a) a patient monitoring module for monitoring a physiological parameter of a patient; and
(b) a patient treatment module for providing treatment to a patient;
a central processor for exchanging data with modules and for processing signals derived from at least one of said plurality of different modules; and
a display generator for initiating generation of data representing at least one user interface image including processed signal information of at least one of said plurality of different modules.

A central processor exchanges data with the plurality of modules and processes signals derived from at least one of the plurality of different modules. (c) a module supporting ventilation of a patient; and
(d) a module supporting fluid infusion pump control;
wherein an individual module includes a processor supporting operation of functions of said individual module;
a central processor for exchanging data with module processors and for processing signals derived from at least one of said plurality of different modules; and

a central unit for accommodating one or more of said plurality of different modules; and
a display generator for initiating generation of data representing at least one user interface image including processed signal information of at least one of said plurality of different modules.

wherein an individual module includes a processor supporting operation of functions of said individual module;
a central unit for accommodating one or more of said plurality of different modules and an individual module of said plurality of different modules is removable from said central unit and capable of operation external to said central unit and including, a central processor for exchanging data with module processors and for processing signals derived from at least one of said plurality of different modules; and

(b) a module supporting delivery of anesthesia to a patient;
(c) a module supporting ventilation of a patient; and
(d) a module supporting infusion pump control;
wherein an individual module includes a processor supporting operation of functions of said individual module;
processing signals derived from at least one of said plurality of different modules; and
initiating generation of data representing at least one user interface image including processed signal information of at least one of said plurality of different modules.

exchanging data between a central processor and at least one of a plurality of different modules including at least one of;
(a) a patient monitoring module for acquiring and processing signals derived from sensors suitable for attachment to a patient;
(b) a module supporting delivery of anesthesia to a patient;
(c) a module supporting ventilation of a patient; and
(d) a module supporting infusion pump control;
wherein an individual module includes a processor supporting operation of functions of said individual module;
processing signals derived from at least one of said plurality of different modules;
housing one or more of said plurality of different modules in a central unit wherein an individual module of said plurality of different modules is removable from said central unit and capable of operation external to said central unit; and
initiating generation of data representing at least one user interface image including processed signal information of at least one of said plurality of different modules.
