Abstract

A method for generating a price planning schedule includes receiving price planning input from at least one of an automated pricing engine and a manual pricing engine. The method further includes generating a price planning schedule based on the price planning input and a price planning budget associated with the price planning input.

Claims

1. A method for generating a price planning schedule, comprising:

receiving price planning input from at least one of an automated pricing engine and a manual pricing engine; and

generating a price planning schedule based on the price planning input and a price planning budget associated with the price planning input.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the automated pricing engine is at least one of a slower seller management engine, a manual pricing engine and a promotion management engine.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the price planning schedule includes one or more price changes for one or more articles or services for sale at a retail location.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the price planning schedule further includes a time period associated with the one or more price changes.

5. The method of claim 1, further including adjusting the price planning budget based upon the price planning schedule.

6. The method of claim 5, further including determining whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

7. The method of claim 1, further including transmitting the price planning schedule to one or more retail locations to implement one or more price changes in the price planning schedule.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein transmitting the price planning schedule includes transmitting the price planning schedule based on the satisfaction of one or more conditions.

9. The method of claim 1, further including receiving one or more price changes from a user to change one or more prices in the price schedule.

10. The method of claim 9, further including adjusting the price planning budget based upon the one or more price changes.

11. The method of claim 10, further including determining whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

12. The method of claim 10, further including displaying the effect of the one or more price changes on the price planning budget to the user.

13. A system for generating a price planning schedule, comprising:

a user interface configured to display price planning input from at least one of an automated pricing engine and a manual pricing engine; and

a price planning workbench configured to generate a price planning schedule based on the price planning input and a price planning budget associated with the price planning input.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the automated pricing engine is at least one of a slower seller management engine, a manual pricing engine and a promotion management engine.

15. The system of claim 13, wherein the price planning schedule includes one or more price changes for one or more articles or services for sale at a retail location.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the price planning schedule further includes a time period associated with the one or more price changes.

17. The system of claim 13, wherein the price planning workbench is further configured to adjust the price planning budget based upon the price planning schedule.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the price planning workbench is further configured to determine whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

19. The system of claim 13, wherein the price planning workbench is further configured to transmit the price planning schedule to one or more retail locations to implement one or more price changes in the price planning schedule.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the price planning workbench is further configured to transmit the price planning schedule based on the satisfaction of one or more conditions.

21. The system of claim 13, wherein the user interface is configured to receive one or more price changes from a user to change one or more prices in the price schedule.

22. The system of claim 21, wherein the price planning workbench is configured to adjust the price planning budget based upon the one or more price changes.

23. The system of claim 22, wherein the price planning workbench is configured to determine whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

24. The system of claim 22, wherein the user interface is configured to display the effect of the one or more price changes on the price planning budget to the user.

25. A program product for generating a price planning schedule, comprising machine-readable program code for causing, when executed, one or more machines to perform the following method steps:

receiving price planning input from at least one of an automated pricing engine and a manual pricing engine; and

generating a price planning schedule based on the price planning input and a price planning budget associated with the price planning input.

26. The program product of claim 25, wherein the automated pricing engine is at least one of a slower seller management engine, a manual pricing engine and a promotion management engine.

27. The program product of claim 25, wherein the price planning schedule includes one or more price changes for one or more articles or services for sale at a retail location.

28. The program product of claim 27, wherein the price planning schedule further includes a time period associated with the one or more price changes.

29. The program product of claim 25, further configured to adjust the price planning budget based upon the price planning schedule.

30. The program product of claim 29, further configured to determine whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

31. The program product of claim 25, further configured to transmit the price planning schedule to one or more retail locations to implement one or more price changes in the price planning schedule.

32. The program product of claim 31, wherein transmitting the price planning schedule includes transmitting the price planning schedule based on the satisfaction of one or more conditions.

33. The program product of claim 25, further configured to receive one or more price changes from a user to change one or more prices in the price schedule.

34. The program product of claim 33, further configured to adjust the price planning budget based upon the one or more price changes.

35. The program product of claim 34, further configured to determine whether the price planning budget is within a predefined tolerance after adjustment.

36. The program product of claim 34, further configured to display the effect of the one or more price changes on the price planning budget to the user.
