Abstract

Efficient sequence specific gene silencing is possible through the use of siRNA technology. By selecting particular siRNAs by rationale design, one can maximize the generation of an effective gene silencing reagent, as well as methods for silencing genes.

20. An siRNA comprised of a duplex region of 18-30 base pairs, wherein said siRNA is effective at silencing production of a protein kinase or protein kinase inhibitor.

28. A pool of siRNA, wherein said pool comprises a first siRNA and a second siRNA, wherein said first siRNA comprises a duplex region of 18-30 base pairs that form an antisense region that is at least substantially complementary to a first region of a target, and said second siRNA comprises a duplex region of 18-30 base pairs that form an antisense region that is at least substantially complementary to a second region of said target, wherein said target is a protein kinase or protein kinase inhibitor.
