Abstract

Liquid computing can include using a service bus to interact with a number of heterogeneous systems.

Claims

1. A system including:

a number of heterogeneous systems;

a service bus interacting with the heterogeneous systems, the service bus including a service broker for the heterogeneous systems; and

services using the service bus, at least one of the services interacting with more than one of the heterogeneous systems.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein one of the services is a virtual data system.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein one of the services is an enterprise security.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein one of the services is business process.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the business processes use BPEL.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein a business authoring tool is run on the business processes.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the services include a occationally-connected application server.

8. A system including:

a number of heterogeneous systems; and

an ultrastructure including service brokering for the heterogeneous systems and business level services for the heterogeneous systems, wherein the ultrastucture allows users to interact with the heterogeneous systems.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the ultrastructure includes logging and monitoring.

10. The system of claim 8, wherein the ultrastructure includes a metadata registry.

11. The system of claim 8, wherein the ultrastructure includes security for the heterogeneous systems.

12. The system of claim 8, wherein the ultrastructure includes virtual data for the heterogeneous systems.

13. A system including:

a number of heterogeneous systems;

a service bus interacting with the heterogeneous systems, the service bus including a service broker for the heterogeneous systems; and

services using the service bus, at least one of the services interacting with more than one of the heterogeneous systems, wherein the service bus is adapted to reroute which heterogeneous systems interact with the at least one of the services.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein one of the services is a virtual data system.

15. The system of claim 13, wherein one of the services is an enterprise security.

16. The system of claim 13, wherein one of the services is business process.

17. A system including:

a number of heterogeneous systems;

a service bus interacting with the heterogeneous systems, the service bus including a service broker for the heterogeneous systems; and

services using the service bus, wherein one of the services includes a business authoring tool that allows a business user to create business processes that interact with a number of the heterogeneous systems.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the business processes use BPEL.

19. The system of claim 17, wherein the business processes created by the business authoring tool are filterable by an administrator.

20. The system of claim 17, wherein the business processes created by the business authoring tool are viewable by an administrator.
