Abstract

The present invention provides a display apparatus for zooming and displaying a portion of an object to be displayed on display means according to an instruction by a user and allowing scrolling a display portion for the object to be displayed. The display apparatus includes input means for accepting the instruction by a user, and control means for controlling a display of the object to be displayed on the display means so that zooming out of the display on the display means is started and then the zoomed out display is zoomed in to the original size according to the instruction by a user as a trigger. The control means stops the zooming out or zooming in the display when scrolling is instructed by the input means during a period from a point of time when the zooming out is started until a point of time when the zooming in is completed, and scrolls the display on the display means according to the instruction for scrolling.

Claims

1. A display apparatus for zooming and displaying a portion of an object to be displayed on display means according to an instruction by a user and allowing scrolling a display portion for said object to be displayed, comprising:

input means for accepting said instruction by a user; and

control means for controlling a display of said object to be displayed on said display means so that zooming out of the display on said display means is started and then the zoomed out display is zoomed in to the original size according to said instruction by a user as a trigger,

wherein said control means stops said zooming out or zooming in the display when scrolling is instructed by said input means during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when said zooming in is completed, and scrolls the display on said display means according to said instruction for scrolling.

The display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein, in a case where scrolling is not instructed by said input means during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when said zooming in is completed, when the size of the display on said display means reaches a limit value by said zooming out, said control means zooms in the display to the original size after the lapse of a specified period of time after said zooming out is completed.

The display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein, in a case where scrolling is instructed during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when the size of the display on said display means reaches a limit value, said control means zooms in the display on said display means to the original size by a completion of scrolling.

The display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein, in a case where scrolling is instructed by said input means after the lapse of said specified period of time after the size of the display on said display means reaches a limit value, said control means zooms in the display on said display means to the original size by a completion of scrolling.

5. The display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means zooms in the display on said display means to the original size according to said instruction by a user using said input means as a trigger.

6. The display apparatus according to claim 5, wherein, in a case where scrolling is instructed by said input means upon said zooming out, said control means zooms in the display on said display means to the original size by a completion of scrolling.

7. The display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said object to be displayed is a map.

8. The display apparatus according to claim 7 comprising:

current position detecting means for detecting a current position,

wherein said control means executes processing of a route search from a current position detected by said current position detecting means to a destination set with said input means, and displays said map on said display means according to a route detected by said processing of a route search.

9. A display method for zooming and displaying a portion of an object to be displayed according to an instruction by a user and allowing scrolling a display portion for said object to be displayed, comprising the steps of:

zooming in, after starting zooming out a display on display means according to an instruction by a user as a trigger, the display to the original size; and

scrolling, during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when said zooming in is finished by stopping said zooming out and zooming in the display when an instruction for scrolling is instructed by said user, the display on said display means according to said instruction for scrolling.

10. A recording medium with a program for a display method recorded, said display method for zooming and displaying a portion of an object to be displayed and allowing scrolling a display portion for said object to be displayed by executing a processing sequence by computing means,

wherein said processing sequence comprising the steps of:

zooming in, after starting zooming out a display on display means according to said instruction by a user as a trigger, the display to the original size; and

scrolling, during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when said zooming in is finished by stopping said zooming out and zooming in the display when scrolling is instructed by said user, the display on said display means according to said instruction for scrolling.

11. A display apparatus for zooming and displaying a portion of an object to be displayed on display section according to an instruction by a user and allowing scrolling a display portion for said object to be displayed, comprising:

an input section for accepting said instruction by a user; and

a control section for controlling a display of said object to be displayed on said display section so that zooming out of the display on said display section is started and then the zoomed out display is zoomed in to the original size according to said instruction by a user as a trigger,

wherein said control section stops said zooming out or zooming in the display when scrolling is instructed by said input section during a period from a point of time when said zooming out is started until a point of time when said zooming in is completed, and scrolls the display on said display section according to said instruction for scrolling.
