Abstract

The invention is a method, system and software application for electrochemical analysis of analytes in a solution. In one aspect of the invention, raw data is received from an electrochemical analysis and the raw data is analyzed. The analyzed data and the raw data are displayed. The electrochemical analysis is performed by applying one or more time-sequenced voltage waveforms in the solution and measuring the resulting current in the solution. In one aspect of the invention, the raw data is received from the electrochemical analysis wherein the raw data is representative of the measured current parameters. The raw data may be integrated based on one or more integration time intervals, and the raw data may be displayed in one or more three dimensional plots. The integrated data and the raw data may also be displayed in one or more two-dimensional plots. The raw data is stored for three dimensional displays and the integrated data is stored for two dimensional displays. Baseline correction is performed on the raw data and the baseline corrected data is displayed in one or more three dimensional plots and in one or more two dimensional plots. The raw data is transmitted and stored at a rate between 100 Hz and 10 KHz.

Claims

1. A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having computer readable program code embodied in the medium for causing an application program to execute on a computer method steps for analyzing and displaying data received from electrochemical analysis performed by applying one or more voltage waveforms on analyte(s) and measuring the resulting current in the analyte(s), the method steps comprising:

receiving raw data from the electrochemical analysis wherein the raw data is representative of the measured current parameters;

integrating the raw data based on at least one integration time interval;

displaying the raw data in at least one three-dimensional plot;

displaying the integrated data and the raw data in at least one two-dimensional plot.

2. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the electrochemical analysis is an integrated amperometry process configured to determine the chemical composition of the analyte(s).

3. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises storing the raw data for three dimensional displays and two dimensional displays.

4. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises storing the integrated data for two dimensional displays.

5. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises performing baseline correction of the raw data.

6. The computer program product of claim 5 wherein the method steps further comprises displaying the baseline corrected data in three dimensional plots and two dimensional plots.

7. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises performing arithmetic operations on the raw data.

8. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises performing arithmetic operations on the integrated data.

9. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the raw data is transmitted and stored at a rate preferably between 100 Hz and 10 KHz.

10. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the raw data is transmitted and stored at 1 KHz rate.

11. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises modifying integration intervals.

12. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method steps further comprises changing the integration start and end points of the integration intervals.

22. The method of claim 1 wherein the data is transmitted at 1 KHz.

36. The computer program product of claim 1 wherein the method further comprising re-integrating the data with different integration parameters.

13. A method for analyzing and displaying data received from electrochemical analysis performed by applying one or more voltage waveforms on analyte(s) and measuring the resulting current in the analyte(s), the method comprising:

receiving raw data from the electrochemical analysis wherein the raw data is representative of the measured current parameters;

integrating the raw data based on at least one integration time interval;

displaying the raw data in at least one three-dimensional plot;

displaying the integrated data and the raw data in at least one two-dimensional plot.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein the electrochemical analysis in an integrated amperometry process configured to determine the chemical composition of the analyte(s).

15. The method of claim 13 further comprising storing the raw data for three dimensional displays and two dimensional displays.

16. The method of claim 13 further comprising storing the integrated data suitably for two dimensional displays.

17. The method of claim 13 further comprising performing baseline correction of the raw data.

18. The method of claim 17 further comprising displaying the baseline corrected data in a three dimensional display.

19. The method of claim 13 further comprising performing arithmetic operations on the raw data.

20. The method of claim 13 further comprising performing arithmetic operations on the integrated data.

21. The method of claim 13 wherein the data is transmitted at a rate between 100 Hz and 10 KHz.

23. A method for analyzing and displaying data received from electrochemical analysis performed by applying one or more voltage waveforms on analyte(s) and measuring the resulting current in the analyte(s), the method comprising:

receiving raw data from the electrochemical analysis wherein the raw data is representative of the measured current parameters;

displaying the raw data in at least one three-dimensional plot.

24. The method of claim 23 wherein the electrochemical analysis is a cyclic voltammetry process configured to determine the chemical composition of the analytes(s).

25. The method of claim 23 wherein the electrochemical analysis is a DC amperometry process configured to determine the chemical composition of the analyte(s).

26. The method of claim 23 further comprising displaying the applied voltage in at least one plot.

27. The method of claim 23 further comprising displaying the measured current in at least one plot.

28. The method of claim 23 further comprising displaying the measured current and the applied voltage in a cyclic voltammetry plot.

29. The method of claim 23 further comprising performing arithmetic operations on the raw data.

30. A system comprising a plurality of modules for analyzing and displaying data received from electrochemical analysis performed by applying one or more voltage waveforms on analyte(s) and measuring the resulting current in the analyte(s), comprising:

a processor circuit configured to generate at least one digital voltage waveform;

a first converter circuit configured to receive the digital voltage waveform and responsive to generate an analog voltage waveform;

at least one first electrode configured to receive the analog voltage waveform and responsive to apply the analog voltage waveform to the analyte(s) and to measure the resulting current signal in the analyte(s);

a second converter circuit configured to receive the measured current signal and responsive to generate raw data representative of the measured current signal;

a computer configured to receive the raw data and displaying the raw data in at least one three-dimensional plot.

31. The system of claim 30 further comprising at least one second electrode configured to measure a reference voltage in the analyte(s).

32. The system of claim 31 further comprising a summing circuit coupled to the first converter circuit and adapted to receive the reference voltage and the analog voltage waveform and responsive to generate a resultant voltage waveform, and wherein the resultant voltage waveform is applied to the analytes.

33. The system of claim 30 wherein the host computer integrates the raw data based on one or more integration time intervals.

34. The system of claim 30 wherein the host computer displays the integrated data and the raw data in at least one two-dimensional plot.

35. The system of claim 30 wherein the electrochemical analysis is an integrated amperometry process configured to determine the chemical composition of the analyte(s).
