Abstract

The present invention is made with the aim of performing time correction appropriately, regarding an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device. This is achieved by the electronic device (mobile terminal device 2) that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising a reception section (wireless reception section 8) that receives the time correction information; and a time correction section (processor 6) that judges whether the information is received during any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time, then either discards the time correction information if it is received during the correction inhibiting periods, or corrects the device side time with the time correction information if it is received other than the correction inhibiting periods. The device further comprises a retention section (memory section 4) that retains the time correction information in order to perform time correction later at the right time. Moreover, computing is performed such that a time span (ΔT, from the instant when the time correction information is received until the instant when the time correction takes place) is added to the supplied time (correction time Tx) in order to obtain the true time (fixed time Ty).

Claims

1. An electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising:

a reception section that receives the time correction information; and

a time correction section that judges whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not, then either discards the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable, or corrects the device side time with the time correction information if none of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable.

2. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein if the device side time has been corrected with the supplied time correction information, a correction inhibiting period is set for a certain time after the correction, during which any time correction information that is supplied is discarded and correction of the device side time is prohibited.

3. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the correction inhibiting period is a period of time after power-on, a period of time continuing functionally or a period of time reserved for the device side.

4. An electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising:

a reception section that receives the time correction information;

a retention section that retains the time correction information received at the reception section; and

a time correction section that corrects the device side time by using the time correction information retained in the retention section.

5. The electronic device of claim 4, wherein the retention section retains the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable.

6. The electronic device of claim 4, wherein a correction time is decided by adding a time difference between the time of the time correction information and the instant when a time correction takes place, to the time of the correction time information retained in the retention section.

7. The electronic device of claim 4, wherein the reception section further comprises a time-measuring section that measures a time span between the instant when the reception section receives the time correction information and the instant when a time correction takes place.

8. A time correction method of an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising the processing of:

receiving the time correction information;

judging whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not; and

discarding the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable, or correcting the device side time with the time correction information if none of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable.

9. A time correction method of an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising the processing of:

receiving the time correction information;

retaining the received time correction information; and

correcting the device side time by using the retained time correction information.

10. The time correction method of an electronic device of claim 9, further comprising the processing of:

judging whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not; and

retaining the time correction information if any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable.

11. The time correction method of claim 9, further comprising the processing of computing a correction time by adding a time difference between the time of the time correction information and the instant when a time correction takes place, to the time of the retained correction time information.

12. A time correction program executed by a computer, the time correction program of an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising the steps of:

receiving the time correction information;

judging whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not; and

discarding the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable, or correcting the device side time with the time correction information if none of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable.

13. A time correction program executed by a computer, the time correction program of an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising the steps of:

receiving the time correction information;

retaining the received time correction information; and

correcting the device side time by using the retained time correction information.

14. The time correction program of an electronic device of claim 13, further comprising the steps of:

judging whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not; and

retaining the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable.

15. The time correction program of an electronic device of claim 13, further comprising the step of computing a correction time by adding a time difference between the time of the time correction information and the instant when a time correction takes place, to the time of the retained correction time information.

16. A mobile terminal device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from base stations, comprising:

a reception section that receives the time correction information; and

a time correction section that judges whether any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable or not, then either discards the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable, or corrects the device side time with the time correction information if none of the correction inhibiting periods is applicable.

17. A mobile terminal device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from base stations, comprising:

a reception section that receives the time correction information;

a retention section that retains the time correction information received at the reception section; and

a time correction section that corrects the device side time by using the time correction information retained in the retention section.

18. The mobile terminal device of claim 17, wherein the retention section retains the time correction information if any of the correction inhibiting periods of the device side time is applicable.
