Abstract

An exercise desk that may be attached to a piece of exercise equipment is disclosed that that has an adjustable desk top. By providing an adapter capable of independent adjustment of the desk top, horizontal position of the adapter and vertical position of the adapter, the exercise desk may be mounted to a variety of exercise devices. Furthermore, the desk top is selectively pivotable.

Claims

1. An exercise desk for attaching to an exercise device, comprising:

a base for providing support to said exercise desk;

a desk top providing a stable surface;

a selectively pivotable desk mount fixedly attached to said desk top to permit said desk top to pivot about an axis; and

a desk top positioning system selected from the group consisting of an orthogonal positioning system and a triangular positioning system, said positioning system attached to said desk mount to permit independent vertical and horizontal positioning of said desk top, said positioning system further attached to the exercise device at least at one point.

2. The exercise desk as set forth in claim 1, wherein said positioning system is also attached to base.

The exercise desk as set forth in claim 1, wherein said desk top positioning system is an orthogonal positioning system, said orthogonal positioning system including an adapter having a vertical desk adjustment, a vertical attachment adjustment and a horizontal attachment adjustment, said adapter enabling said desk top to be positioned independent of the vertical attachment adjustment and horizontal attachment adjustment, an attachment member for securing said exercise desk to the exercise device, at least one desk top support member disposed between said adapter and said desk mount to provide vertical adjustment to said desk top, at least one vertical support member disposed between said base and said adapter to provide vertical adjustment for said attachment member, and at least one horizontal support member disposed between said adapter and said attachment member to provide horizontal adjustment for said attachment member.

4. The exercise desk as set forth in claim 2, wherein said base further provides support to the exercise device.

5. The exercise desk of claim 1, wherein the exercise device is a bicycle.

The exercise desk as set forth in claim 5, further comprising a rear wheel support device, said rear wheel support device for maintaining a vertical clearance between a rear wheel of a bicycle and a support surface, the rear wheel support device having a load device to apply resistance against petals.

7. The exercise desk of claim 1, further comprising a handle adapted to be attached to an exercise device.

The exercise desk as set forth in claim 1, wherein said desk top positioning system is a triangular positioning system, said triangular positioning system including a generally vertical support member slidably engaging a vertical desk top support member, said desk top support member being selectively adjustable along the long axis of said vertical support member by a vertical attachment adjustment, an inclined support member slidably engaging an inclined desk top support member, said inclined desk top support member being selectively adjustable along the long axis of said inclined support member by an inclined attachment adjustment, said vertical support member attached to one of a base or the exercise device and said inclined support member attached to the exercise device.

9. The exercise desk as set forth in claim 8, further comprising an attachment member, said inclined support member attachment to said attachment member for attachment to the exercise device.

10. An exercise desk for attaching to an exercise device, comprising:

a base having a vertical support member extending therefrom;

an adapter slidably engaging said vertical support member, said adapter including a vertical attachment adjustment for selectively adjusting the vertical position of said adapter with respect to said vertical support member, said adapter also slidably engaging a desk top support member, said adapter further including a vertical desk adjustment for selectively adjusting the vertical position of said vertical support member with respect to said adapter, said adapter also slidably engaging a horizontal support member, said adapter further including a horizontal attachment adjustment for selectively adjusting the horizontal position of said adapter with respect to the exercise device;

a desk top for providing a stable surface, said desk top being selectively pivotally mounted to said desk top support member by a desk mount; and

an attachment member for securing said exercise desk to the exercise device.

11. The exercise desk of claim 10, wherein the vertical position of said desk top may be adjusted independent of the vertical position of said adapter.

12. The exercise desk of claim 11, wherein the vertical position of said adapter may be adjusted independent of the horizontal position of the adapter.

13. The exercise desk of claim 12, wherein the vertical position of said desk top may be adjusted independent of the vertical position of the adapter.

14. The exercise desk of claim 10, further comprising a handle adapted to be attached to an exercise device.

15. The exercise desk of claim 10, further comprising a rear wheel support device, said rear wheel support device for maintaining a vertical clearance between a rear wheel of a bicycle and a support surface, said rear wheel support device having a load device to apply resistance against petals.
