Abstract

A hand-held printer assembly includes a print media cartridge configured to store a stack of sheets of print media. A printer is configured to releasably engage with the print media cartridge and print on respective sheets of the print media passing there-through. A print media transporter is arranged to transport respective sheets of the print media from the stack in the cartridge and through the printer during printing.

Claims

1. A hand-held printer assembly that comprises

a print media cartridge configured to store a stack of sheets of print media;

a printer configured to releasably engage with the print media cartridge and print on respective sheets of the print media passing through the printer; and

a print media feed mechanism for feeding respective sheets of the print media from the stack in the cartridge and through the printer during printing.

2. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the printer defines an inlet and an opposed outlet for the print media sheets.

3. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the printer and the print media feed mechanism are configured to print on sheets that are generally business card sized.

4. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cartridge defines a socket and the printer defines a mating portion for being releasably engaged with the cartridge within the socket.

5. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the feed mechanism includes a slider which can be used to slide an outermost sheet of the print media from the stack in the print media cartridge.

6. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 5, wherein the printer is configured to print an image on the outermost sheet responsive to the sheet being fed into the printer by the slider.

7. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, further including a memory module in which images to be printed by the printer can be stored.

8. A hand-held printer assembly as claimed in claim 1, further including a battery module which can be releasably engaged with the printer.
