Abstract

A method for displaying text including the steps of providing a text, arranging the text into a plurality of word clusters, wherein at least one selected word cluster of the plurality of word clusters includes at least two lines of words and each line of words includes at least two words, and emphasizing at least one word in the selected word cluster.

Claims

1. A method for displaying text comprising the steps of:

providing a text;

arranging said text into a plurality of word clusters, wherein at least one selected word cluster of said plurality of word clusters includes at least two lines of words and each line of words includes at least two words; and

emphasizing at least one word in said selected word cluster.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein said emphasizing step includes altering at least one of a typeface, a font and a color of at least one word in said selected word cluster with respect to the other words in said selected word cluster.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein consecutive word clusters of said plurality of word clusters are positioned horizontally across a page.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein consecutive word clusters of said plurality of word clusters are positioned vertically across a page.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein said selected word cluster includes at most six lines of words and each line of words includes at most six words.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein each word cluster of said plurality of word clusters is spaced from the other word clusters of said plurality of word clusters.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein said emphasizing step includes identifying at least one content word in said selected word cluster and emphasizing said content word.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of deemphasizing at least one word in said selected word cluster.

9. The method of claim 8 wherein said deemphasizing step includes identifying at least one function word in said selected word cluster and deemphasizing said function word.

10. The method of claim 8 wherein said deemphasizing step includes lightening at least one of a typeface, a font and a color of at least one word in said selected word cluster with respect to the other words in said selected word cluster.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein at least one word cluster of said plurality of word clusters includes a last line of words and at least one non-last line of words.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein said non-last line of words is presented with a typeface having a reduced serif.

13. The method of claim 11 wherein said last line of words is presented with a typeface having a full serif.

14. A method for displaying text comprising the steps of:

providing a text having a plurality of words;

arranging said words into a plurality of word clusters, wherein at least two selected word clusters of said plurality of word clusters each include at least two lines of words and each line of words includes at least two words; and

altering at least one of a typeface, a font and a color of at least one word in each of said selected word clusters with respect to the other words in said selected word clusters.

15. The method of claim 14 wherein consecutive word clusters of said plurality of word clusters are positioned horizontally across a page.

16. The method of claim 14 wherein consecutive word clusters of said plurality of word clusters are positioned vertically across a page.

17. The method of claim 14 wherein each of said selected word clusters includes at most six lines of words and each line of words includes at most six words.

18. The method of claim 14 wherein each word cluster of said plurality of word clusters is spaced from the other word clusters of said plurality of word clusters.

19. A textual display comprising a display medium and a text displayed on said display medium as a plurality of word clusters, wherein at least two selected word clusters of said plurality of word clusters each includes at least two lines of words and each line of words includes at least two words, wherein at least one word in each of said selected word clusters is emphasized.

20. The textual display of claim 19 wherein said at least one word in each of said selected word clusters is emphasized by altering at least one of a typeface, a font and a color of said word.

21. A method for displaying text comprising the steps of:

providing a text;

arranging said text into a plurality of word clusters, wherein at least one selected word cluster of said plurality of word clusters includes at least one spoken word and at least one non-spoken word; and

altering at least one of a typeface, a font and a color of said spoken word with respect to said non-spoken word.
