Abstract

The present invention provides according to an embodiment a method of reproducing digital content, comprising: (a) determining whether a sample data is present based on an indication information indicating a presence of the sample data; (b) reading a position information representing a location of a sample data if the sample data is present as a result of the step (a), the sample data being same as a portion of digital content and not protected; and (c) reproducing the sample data based on the read position information without Digital Right Management (DRM) information, the DRM information authorizing a reproduction of the digital content.

Claims

1. A method of reproducing digital content, comprising:

(a) determining whether a sample data is present based on an indication information indicating a presence of the sample data;

(b) reading a position information representing a location of a sample data if the sample data is present as a result of the step (a), the sample data being same as a portion of digital content and not protected; and

(c) reproducing the sample data based on the read position information without Digital Right Management (DRM) information, the DRM information authorizing a reproduction of the digital content.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the position information indicates at least a start position of the sample data.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the position information further indicates an end position of the sample data.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the position information indicates a duration of the sample data.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the sample data comprises a plurality of portions, which are same as the corresponding portions of digital content, wherein the step (a) reads each position information where the plurality of portions are present.

6. An apparatus for reproducing digital content, comprising:

a memory storing digital data, the digital data including a digital content and a sample data, the sample data being same as a portion of digital content and not protected; and

a controller determining whether the sample data is present based on an indication information, reading a position information for indicating a location of the sample data if a sample data is present, and controlling a reproduction of the sample data based on the read position information without Digital Right Management (DRM) information, the DRM information authorizing a reproduction of the digital content.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the memory further stores the indication information and the position information.

The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the sample data comprises a plurality of portions, which are same as the corresponding portions of digital content, wherein the controller controls the reproduction of each portion of the sample data based on each positional information indicating the plurality of portions.

9. A storage medium having a data structure, wherein the data structure comprises a protected digital content, a sample data being same as a portion of digital content and not protected, an indication information to indicate a presence of the sampled data, and a position information where a sample data is present.

10. The storage medium of claim 9, wherein the position information indicates at least a start position of the sample data.

11. The storage medium of claim 10, wherein the position information further indicates an end position of the sample data.

12. The storage medium of claim 9, wherein the position information indicates a duration of the sample data.

13. The storage medium of claim 9, herein the sample data comprises a plurality of portions, which are same as the corresponding portions of digital content.

14. The storage medium of claim 9, wherein the digital content comprises digital audio or video.

15. The storage medium of claim 9, wherein the storage medium further stores a management information to manage the protected digital content.

16. A method of reproducing content, comprising:

(a) determining whether a sample data for a pre-viewing or a pre-listening is present, based on indication information whether or not the sample data is present, wherein the sample data is same as a part within a content and not protected; and

(b) reproducing the sample data without Digital Right Management (DRM) information if the sample data is present as a result of the step (a), wherein the DRM information for authorizing a reproduction of content.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the content is reproduced only according to the DRM information.

18. The method of claim 16, wherein the step (b) comprises:

(b1) identifying a position where the sample data is present, based on a position information, and

(b2) reproducing the sample data using the position information.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the position information includes a start position of the sample data.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the position information further includes an end position of the sample data.

21. The method of claim 18, wherein the position information includes a duration of the sample data.
