1. A method for controlling a computer display cursor position in an interaction region, comprising:
- using a projection device to project an image of the computer display to create the interaction region;
establishing a distance between a first point and a second point, said first point having a predetermined relation to said projection device, and said second point having a predetermined relation to said interaction region;
measuring at least one of an orientation and a position of a pointing line, said pointing line having a predetermined relation to a pointing device, and using the established distance and the at least one of measured position and orientation to control the cursor position on the interaction region.

Abstract
A method for controlling a computer display cursor in an interaction region includes projecting an image of the computer display to create the interaction region. A distance is established between a first point and a second point. The first point has a predetermined relation to the projection device, and the second point has a predetermined relation to the interaction region. At least one of an orientation and a position of a pointing line is measured. The pointing line has a predetermined relation to a pointing device. The established distance and the at least one of measured position and orientation are used to control the cursor position on the interaction region.

2. A method for controlling a parameter related to position of a cursor on a projected computer screen image, comprising:
-
establishing a first point having a predetermined relation to said projected computer screen image;
directing a pointing line to substantially pass through said first point, the pointing line having a predetermined relationship to a pointing device;
measuring an orientation of said pointing line;
using the measured orientation to constrain a positional coordinate of said pointing device relative to said projected computer screen image, and using the positional coordinate to control the parameter of said cursor on said computer screen image. - View Dependent Claims (3)

4. A method for controlling a parameter related to position of a cursor on a projected computer screen image, comprising:
-
establishing a first point having a predetermined relation to said projected computer screen image;
first measuring an orientation of a pointing line while substantially passing the pointing line through said first point, said pointing line having a predetermined relation to a pointing device;
using the first measurement to constrain a positional coordinate of said first point relative to said pointing device during the first measurement;
establishing a second point having a predetermined relation to said projected computer screen image;
second measuring an orientation of the pointing line while substantially passing the pointing line through said second point;
initializing at most two first positional coordinates of said pointing device during the first and the second measurements to have predetermined relations;
using the second measurement to constrain at least a second positional coordinate of said pointing device relative to said projected computer screen image during the second measurement, and using said at most two first positional coordinates and the at least a second positional coordinate constrained during the second measurement to control the parameter of said cursor on said computer screen image.
