Abstract

In certain embodiments, a mobile video system is provided that includes a first entertainment system mountable in a first headrest of a vehicle. The first entertainment system includes a first input having a structure and a first output having a structure. The mobile video system also includes a second entertainment system mountable in a second headrest of a vehicle. The second entertainment system includes a second input and a second output. The second input has a structure the same as the structure of the first input and the second output has a structure the same as the structure of the first output. The mobile video system also includes an adapter configured to couple the first input with the second output and the second input with the first output.

Claims

1. A mobile video system comprising:

a first entertainment system mountable in a first headrest of a vehicle, the first entertainment system comprising a first input having a structure and a first output having a structure;

a second entertainment system mountable in a second headrest of a vehicle, the second entertainment system comprising a second input and a second output, the second input having a structure the same as the structure of the first input, the second output having a structure the same as the structure of the first output; and

an adapter configured to couple the first input with the second output and the second input with the first output.

2. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the adapter comprises a first communication line configured to couple the first input with the second output and a second communication line configured to couple the second input with the first output.

3. The mobile video system of claim 2, wherein the adapter further comprises an electrical line configured to electrically couple the first and second entertainment systems.

4. The mobile video system of claim 3, wherein the electrical line provides a common ground for the first and second entertainment systems.

5. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the adapter comprises a single unit.

6. The mobile video system of claim 5, wherein the first input and output comprise a single unit.

7. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the first input and output comprise a single unit.

8. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the adapter further comprises a first electrical line configured to couple a power source with the first and second entertainment systems.

9. The mobile video system of claim 8, wherein the adapter further comprises a second electrical line configured to couple a ground with the first and second entertainment systems.

10. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the adapter comprises three branches.

11. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein the adapter comprises a first, a second, a third, and a fourth coupler configured to couple with the first input, the first output, the second input, and the second output, respectively.

12. The mobile video system of claim 11, wherein the adapter comprises a first communication line coupled with the first and fourth couplers and a second communication line coupled with the second and third couplers.

13. The mobile video system of claim 11, wherein a first connector comprises the first and second couplers and a second connector comprises the third and fourth couplers.

14. The mobile video system of claim 13, wherein the first and second connectors are interchangeable.

15. The mobile video system of claim 1, wherein each of the first and second entertainment systems comprises a signal source and a monitor.

16. A media system comprising:

a first headrest-mountable entertainment system comprising a first connector, the first connector comprising a first input and a first output;

a second headrest-mountable entertainment system comprising a second connector, the second connector comprising a second input and a second output; and

an adapter comprising;

a third connector configured to couple with either the first or second connector;

a fourth connector configured to couple with either the first or second connector;

a first communication line coupled with the third and fourth connectors such that the first output is able to communicate with the second input or the second output is able to communicate with the first input; and

a second communication line coupled with the third and fourth connectors such that the first output is able to communicate with the second input or the second output is able to communicate with the first input.

17. The media system of claim 16, wherein the adapter comprises a single integral unit.

18. The media system of claim 16, wherein the first communication line is configured to allow communication between the first output and the second input when the second communication line allows communication between the second output and the first input.

19. The media system of claim 16, wherein the first connector has a first configuration and the second connector has a second configuration that is the same as the first configuration.

20. The media system of claim 19, wherein the third connector has a third configuration and the fourth connector has a fourth configuration that is the same as the third configuration, each of the third and fourth configurations being able to cooperate with either of the first and second configurations to form a connection.

21. The media system of claim 16, wherein the adapter further comprises an electrical line coupled with the third and fourth connectors, the electrical line configured to provide a common ground between the first and second entertainment systems.

22. The media system of claim 16, wherein the adapter further comprises a first electrical line coupled with the third and fourth connectors, the first electrical line configured to be coupled with a power source.

23. The media system of claim 22, wherein the adapter further comprises a second electrical line coupled with the third and fourth connectors, the second electrical line configured to be coupled with a ground.

24. The media system of claim 23, wherein the adapter further comprises a third electrical line coupled with the third and fourth connectors, the third electrical line configured to provide electrical communication between the first and second entertainment systems.
