Abstract

A system for ensuring access management of a given site by providing integrated and comprehensive assessment of persons, livestock or objects that are given access to the site. The system includes a database of information about the site and potential accessors, a communication and scanning device to collect, retrieve and facilitate communication between the site as well as an administrator console. This system is flexible enough to maintain current information about the persons, livestock or objects requesting access to the site and communicating those results to the device user in real time. The system is further enabled through the Internet and the World Wide Web.

Claims

1. A site-specific access management system to control entry to a bordered secure site comprising:

a communications and scanning device connected to a network;

at least one identifier datum, wherein said datum is accessed by said device;

an application server connected to said network; and

a database accessed by an application program, said application program running on said application server to compare said datum with information in said database, said device actively authorized by comparison to said database upon initiation of each use to allow entry to the bordered secure site when said datum compares favorably with information in said database.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein said datum is a barcode.

3. The system of claim 1 wherein said datum is a manually keyed alphanumeric value.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein said datum is a radio frequency.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein said datum is a biometric.

6. The system of claim 5 wherein said biometric is a nucleic acid assay.

7. The system of claim 5 wherein said biometric is a protein assay.

8. The system of claim 1 wherein said datum is selected from a group consisting of:

weight, temperature, dimension, electromagnetic reflectance, gas concentration, and chemical composition.

9. The system of claim 1 wherein said internet is the Internet connected through the World Wide Web.

10. The system of claim 1 wherein said application program runs on said application server.

11. The system of claim 1 further comprising an administration console in communication with said application server.

12. The system of claim 11 wherein said application program responds to a request from said device, and said application program responds to requests from said administrator console.

13. The system of claim 11 wherein said application program has computer logic for producing a report about people, livestock or objects present at said site.

14. The system of claim 13 wherein said report is communicated via said application server to at least one of:

said device and said administration console.

15. The system of claim 14 wherein said report is edited based on an authorization level assigned to a user of said device or said administration console.

16. The system of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of databases accessed by said application program.

17. The system of claim 11 wherein said application program compares said datum with information in said database and produces a comparison report.

18. The system of claim 17 wherein said comparison report is displayed on said device.

19. The system of claim 17 wherein said comparison report is displayed on said administrator console.

20. The system of claim 1 wherein said site is a workplace.

21. The system of claim 1 wherein said site is a livestock processing plant.

22. The system of claim 1 wherein said site is a national border.

23. The system of claim 1 wherein said information in said database is selected from the group consisting of:

names, descriptive words, descriptive phrases, identification numbers, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, company affiliations, contact information for guardians, contact information for overseers;

weights, dimensions, electromagnetic reflectance, electromagnetic emission properties, photographs, chemical composition, or material composition;

fingerprint encodings, iris scans, facial photos, a blood-borne substance indicative of a condition, a saliva-borne substance indicative of a condition, and a combination thereof.

24. A process for verifying site compliance comprising:

collecting information at said site, said information being at least one of;

an identifier datum about a particular person, livestock or object;

transmitting said information with a communication and scanning device;

verifying the authorization of said communication and scanning device transmitting said information to query a remote database;

saving said information in said remote database;

extracting rules specific to said site from said database;

comparing said datum to said rules; and

signaling said device with a comparison result.

25. The process of claim 24 further comprising opening a locking mechanism automatically when the comparison result is access permissive.

26. The process of claim 24 wherein said information is transmitted to a said remote database by way of a network.

27. The process of claim 24 further comprising the step of:

monitoring the comparison step from an administration console.

28. The process of claim 27 further comprising communicating a message from said administration console to said scanning device.
