1. A method for displacing the Schneiderian membrane from the maxillary bone comprising:

  • a. Forming a path of insertion through a segment of the maxillary bone towards the Schneiderian membrane covering said segment of the maxillary bone, while preserving the integrity of said Schneiderian membrane;

    b. Inserting an expandable inflatable element through said path of insertion;

    c. Expanding said expandable element so as to displace said Schneiderian membrane from said maxillary bone and creating a space between the upper part of said segment of the maxillary bone and said displaced Schneiderian membrane, said upper part of said segment of the maxillary bone is selected from the group consisting of the floor of the maxillary sinus and the floor of the nasal cavity.
