Abstract

The present invention relates to management of contact information; more specifically to means and methods of transmitting contact information published in a web page directly to one or more communication devices such as cellular phones. According to another aspect, the present invention relates to means and methods of advertisement of products and services in conjunction with contact information published in a web page. According to one method, advertisement containing data, voice, image and/or video files is attached to contact information published in a web page and thereafter sent to a one or more communication devices, such as cellular phones, along with the corresponding contact information. Means is provided in the communication device to save and/or display the data, voice, image and/or video files contained in the said advertisement; preferably at such a time when a caller selects or uses the contact information corresponding to the said advertisement. Means is also provided to attach different advertisements at different times to the said contact information.

Claims

1. A method of sending contact information published on a web page to a communication device;

wherein

     1) contact information is published in a web page; and

     2) means is provided to send contact information from host web page to one or more communication devices.

2. The method of claim 1;

wherein a template is provided to publish contact information in a web page.

3. The method of claim 1;

wherein a template is provided to publish contact information in a communication device.

4. The method of claim 1;

wherein an interface is provided to enable communication between the template of claim 2 and the template of claim 3.

5. The method of claim 1;

wherein contact information published in a web page is sent to a central server when the said contact information is to be sent to a communication device; and

wherein the central server is the nodal point for transmission of the said contact information to one or more communication devices.

6. The method of claim 1;

wherein means is provided in the communication device to integrate contact information sent from a web page.

7. The method of claim 1;

wherein contact information published in web pages is saved in a central server; and

wherein the central server is the point of transmission of a contact information to a communication device when the corresponding contact information published in a web page is to be sent to a communication device.

8. A method of advertising;

wherein

     1) advertisement content is in an electronic format;

     2) the said advertisement is attached to contact information published on a web page; and

     3) means is provided to send the said advertisement and the contact information attached there with, to one or more communication devices.

9. The method of claim 8 wherein;

the advertisement is attached to the contact information at the point of publication of the said contact information in a web page.

10. The method of claim 8 wherein;

the advertisement is attached to the contact information while the said contact information is in transit from host web page to one or more communication devices.

11. The method of claim 8;

wherein the said advertisement is transmitted to one or more communication devices when the corresponding contact information is transmitted to the said communication devices.

12. The method of claim 8;

wherein a package of advertisements is saved in a communication device; and

thereafter associated with one or more contact information saved in the communication device.

13. The method of claim 12;

wherein means is provided to associate different advertisements at different times to contact information saved in the said communication device.

14. The method of claim 8;

wherein the advertisement is a data file.

15. The method of claim 8;

wherein the advertisement is a voice file.

16. The method of claim 8;

wherein the advertisement is an image file.

17. The method of claim 8;

wherein the advertisement is a video file.

18. The method of claim 8;

wherein means is provided in the communication device to display the said advertisement when the corresponding contact information is selected by a caller.

19. A method of sending information published in an electronic format to a communication device;

wherein

     1) the said information is published in a web page;

     2) the said information is published in an offline document; and

     3) means is provided to send the said information from host location to one or more communication devices.

20. The method of claim 19;

wherein an interface is provided to enable communication between the host location containing the said information and the communication device to which the said information is to be sent.
