Abstract

Improved capabilities are disclosed for receiving a product selection from a mobile communication facility, identifying merchants that sell such product and products associated with the product selection, receiving information relating to the mobile communication facility and presenting an ordered list of merchants selling the product. In embodiments, based at least part on the information relating to the mobile communication facility, the list of merchants may be ordered. These and other capabilities are employed to provide systems and methods for comparison shopping that are adapted for mobile comparison shopping.

Claims

1. A method of mobile comparison shopping comprising:

receiving a product selection from a mobile communication facility;

identifying merchants that sell products associated with the product selection;

receiving information relating to the mobile communication facility;

presenting an ordered list of merchants selling the product, wherein the ordering is based at least in part on the information relating to a mobile communication facility.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the mobile communication facility is a phone.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the product selection is received through a search query.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the search query is an explicit search.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the search query is an implicit search.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the product selection is received through a clickthrough.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the product selection is received through a barcode.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the product selection is received through a text entry.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user characteristic.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user history.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user transaction.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a geographic location.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a user device.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a time.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to a mobile communication facility is a mobile communication facility characteristic.

21. The method of claim 1, wherein the information relating to the mobile communication facility is location.

27. The method of claim 1, wherein the ordered list of merchants is ordered by a product description.

33. The method of claim 1, wherein the ordered list of merchants is ordered by inventory at online locations.

34. The method of claim 1, wherein the ordered list of merchants is ordered by inventory at local offline locations.

35. A system of mobile comparison shopping comprising:

a first receiving facility adapted to receive a product selection from a mobile communication facility;

an identifying facility adapted to identify merchants that sell products associated with the product selection;

a second receiving facility adapted to receive information relating to the mobile communication facility;

a presenting facility adapted to present an ordered list of merchants selling the product, wherein the ordering is based at least in part on the information relating to a mobile communication facility.
