Abstract

A method and system for generating electronic keys. The method comprises providing a plurality of devices and generating an electronic key for each device of the plurality of devices, wherein the electronic keys are generated substantially simultaneously. According to the system and method disclosed herein, the electronic keys for all of the devices are generated in the same amount of time that is required to generate one electronic key for one device.

Claims

1. A method for generating electronic keys, the method comprising:

providing a plurality of devices; and

generating an electronic key for each device of the plurality of devices, wherein the electronic keys are generated substantially simultaneously.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the generating occurs before the plurality of devices are removed from a molded strip.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the generating occurs before the plurality of devices are singulated.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising inserting a molded strip containing the plurality of devices into a strip socket to generate the electronic keys.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising biasing the devices causing each device of the plurality of devices to generate a unique primary number, wherein each primary number is used to generate an electronic key.

6. A computer-readable medium containing program instructions for generating electronic keys, the program instructions which when executed by a computer system cause the computer system to execute a method comprising:

providing a plurality of devices; and

generating an electronic key for each device of the plurality of devices, wherein the electronic keys are generated substantially simultaneously.

7. The computer-readable medium of claim 6 wherein the generating occurs before the plurality of devices are removed from a molded strip.

8. The computer-readable medium of claim 6 wherein the generating occurs before the plurality of devices are singulated.

9. The computer-readable medium of claim 6 further comprising program instructions for inserting a molded strip containing the plurality of devices into a strip socket to generate the electronic keys.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 6 further comprising program instructions for biasing the devices causing each device of the plurality of devices to generate a unique primary number, wherein each primary number is used to generate an electronic key.

11. A system for generating electronic keys, the system comprising:

a processor;

a biasing circuit coupled to the processor; and

a socket coupled to the biasing circuit, wherein the system generates an electronic key for each device of the plurality of devices, wherein the electronic keys are generated substantially simultaneously.

12. The system of claim 11 wherein the system generates electronic keys before the plurality of devices are removed from a molded strip.

13. The system of claim 11 wherein the system generates electronic keys before the plurality of devices are singulated.

14. The system of claim 11 wherein the biasing circuit causing each device of the plurality of devices to generate a unique primary number, wherein each primary number is used to generate an electronic key.
