Abstract

A card game, played by two or more persons, based on a competitive sport, comprising a plurality of cards, each card bearing numerical value and a singular action or feature related to the sport. Each of the cards is in categories of possession card, defense card or scoring card. To play a scoring card, a player is required to have a scoring card at hand, and have played a predetermined number of possession cards in the rounds immediately before the scoring card is played. Each possession card or scoring card has a predetermined defense card appropriate to counter the possession card or scoring card where the defense card has a numerical value greater than the numerical value of the possession card or scoring card. A player is in one of two states, one state being where the player is provided with the option of validly playing said possession card, and the other state being one where the player is not provided with that option.

Claims

1. A game, played by two or more persons, based on a competitive sport, comprising a plurality of cards, each of said cards bearing at least one numerical value and a singular feature related to said sport;

each of said cards predetermined into categories selected from categories of possession card, defense card or scoring card, dependent on said feature borne by said card, and wherein rules of said game include;

to be provided with the option of playing a scoring card, a player is required to have a scoring card at hand, and said player is required to have effectively played a possession card or to have effectively and consecutively played a predetermined number of possession cards or predetermined accumulated points in play rounds immediately before said scoring card is played;

each of said cards in said categories of possession card or scoring card to have a predetermined defense card appropriate to counter said possession card or scoring card where said defense card has a numerical value greater than the numerical value of said possession card or scoring card;

a player is in one of a first state or a second state, said first state being one where said player is provided with an option of effectively playing said possession card, and said second state being one where said player is not provided with said option

2. The game as claimed in claim 1, wherein said numerical value of a scoring card is enhanced where a predetermined possession card is effectively played immediately before said scoring card.

3. The game as claimed in claim 2, further involving:

said numerical value of said scoring card enhanced by the number of possession cards effectively played immediately and consecutively before said scoring card is played.

4. The game as claimed in claim 3, wherein a predetermined points are allocated to a player where a scoring card is played by said player and said scoring is not effectively countered.

5. A method of playing a card game based on a competitive sport including the steps of:

dealing a plurality of cards to a first and second player, designating a first player as in possession,

said first player playing a first possession card having a first power factor;

said second player playing a second card having a second power factor;

wherein

if the second card is an appropriate defense card and the first power factor is greater than the second power factor, then said first player retains possession and possession count is incremented by one, and

if the second card is an appropriate defense card and the first power factor is equal to the second power factor, then said first player retains possession and possession count is set to zero, and

if the second card is not an appropriate defense card, then said first player retains possession and possession count is incremented by one.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein if the second card is an appropriate defense card and the first power factor is less than the second power factor, then said first player loses possession, second player gains possession and possession count is set to zero.

7. The method of claim 5 wherein said first player can play a scoring card when said possession count is greater than a preset value.

8. The method of claim 7 wherein if said possession count is greater than said preset value then a difference is added to a third power factor associated with said scoring card increasing a probability of scoring.
