Abstract

A device includes a first reservoir configured to include a degrading agent, a first valve in fluid communication with the first reservoir, and a reservoir driver configured to manipulate the first reservoir to effect a first reservoir condition based on a first tissue condition. The first valve is configured to open in response to the first reservoir condition associated with the first reservoir.

Claims

1. A device comprising:

a first reservoir configured to include a degrading agent;

a first valve in fluid communication with the first reservoir, the first valve configured to open in response to a first reservoir condition associated with the first reservoir; and

a reservoir driver configured to manipulate the first reservoir to effect the first reservoir condition based on a first tissue condition.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the first valve is configured to close in response to a second reservoir condition, and wherein the reservoir driver is configured to manipulate the first reservoir to effect the second reservoir condition based on a second tissue condition.

3. The device of claim 1, further comprising:

a second reservoir configured to include a stimulating agent; and

a second valve in fluid communication with the second reservoir, the second valve configured to open in response to a second reservoir condition associated with the second reservoir.

4. The device of claim 3, wherein the reservoir driver is configured to manipulate the second reservoir to effect the second reservoir condition based on a second tissue condition.

5. The device of claim 4, wherein the reservoir driver is configured to manipulate the first reservoir based on the second tissue condition such that the first valve is in a closed position.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the degrading agent is selected from the group consisting of chymopapain, collagenase, chondroitinase, keratanase, human proteolytic enzymes, papaya protenase, or any combination thereof.

15. A device comprising:

a first reservoir;

a second reservoir;

a first valve in fluid communication with the first reservoir, the first valve configured to open based on a first tissue condition; and

a second valve in fluid communication with the second reservoir, the second valve configured to open based on a second tissue condition.

16. The device of claim 15, wherein the first valve is configured to close based on the second tissue condition.

17. The device of claim 15, wherein the second valve is configured to close based on the first tissue condition.

18. The device of claim 15, wherein the first reservoir is configured to include a stimulating agent.

19. The device of claim 18, wherein the second reservoir is configured to include a second agent, and wherein the second agent is a stimulating agent.

20. The device of claim 19, wherein the stimulating agent is a regenerating agent.

22. The device of claim 19, wherein the stimulating agent is a therapeutic agent.

24. The device of claim 18, wherein the second reservoir is configured to include a second agent, and wherein the second agent is a degrading agent.

25. The device of claim 24, wherein the degrading agent is selected from the group consisting of chymopapain, collagenase, chondroitinase, keratanase, human proteolytic enzymes, papaya protenase, or any combination thereof.

28. The device of claim 15, wherein the first tissue condition is associated with a low average pressure in a tissue.

30. The device of claim 15, wherein the second tissue condition is associated with a high average pressure in a tissue.

38. The device of claim 15, further comprising a first osmotic driver coupled to the first reservoir.

39. The device of claim 38, wherein the first osmotic driver is configured to adjust a pressure of the first reservoir based on a condition of a tissue.

40. The device of claim 38, wherein the first osmotic drive is coupled to the second reservoir.

42. The device of claim 38, further comprising a second osmotic driver coupled to the second reservoir.

43. The device of claim 42, wherein the first and second osmotic drivers have a different response to a condition of a tissue.

57. A device comprising:

a first reservoir configured to include a stimulating agent;

a second reservoir configured to include a degrading agent;

a first valve in fluid communication with the first reservoir, the first valve configured to open in response to a low-pressure condition in the first reservoir;

a second valve in fluid communication with the second reservoir, the second valve configured to open in response to a high pressure condition in the second reservoir; and

an osmotic reservoir driver configured to apply pressure to at least one of the first or second reservoirs based on a condition of a tissue.

58. The device of claim 57, wherein the first valve is configure to close in response to a high-pressure condition in the first reservoir.

59. The device of claim 57, wherein the first valve is configured to close in response to a pressure condition of the first reservoir characterized by a pressure that is lower than pressure of the low pressure condition.
