Abstract

An active medical implantable device with at least two diagnostic and/or therapeutic functions is constructed from separate active implant modules (2 to 7) which are adapted to the respective desired functions and can be coupled to each other.

Claims

1. An active medical implantable device with at least two diagnostic and/or therapeutic functions, wherein separate active implant modules (2-7;

18-21, 26), which can be coupled together, are provided for said at least two diagnostic and/or therapeutic functions.

2. The implantable device according to claim 1, further comprising a basic device component (15) to which said active implant modules can be coupled.

3. The implantable device according to claim 2, wherein said basic device component (15) receives multi-functional basic elements (SE, KE, EE) for implantable devices (18-21, 26).

4. The implantable device according to claim 3, wherein said multi-functional basic elements of said basic device component (15) comprise a central control unit (SE), a communication unit (KE) and/or a power supply unit (EE) for said implantable devices (18-21, 26).

5. The implantable device according to claim 1, further comprising a bus system (13) used for control of and/or communication between said active implant modules (2-7;

18-21, 26).

6. The implantable device according to claim 5, wherein said active implant modules (2-7;

18-21, 26) are installed along a coupling bar (17) mechanically and for signal transmission to said bus system (13).

7. The implantable device according to claim 6, wherein said bus system (13) is guided through said implantable devices (18-21, 26) and can be expanded by means of plug-in couplings (40) by stringing together implantable devices (18-21, 26) along said bus system.

8. The implantable device according to claim 5, wherein said bus system (13) for signal and communication coupling of said implantable devices (18-21, 26), is of wireless design.

9. The implantable device according to claim 8, wherein said wireless bus system is realized on a radio basis, by means of inductive coupling or by means of galvanic coupling via a conductive body fluid.

10. The implantable device according to claim 1, wherein implant module (26) can be fitted with at least one replaceable sub-module (41), with functionality deviating from said implant module (26).

11. The implantable device according to claim 1, wherein one of said implant modules, is configured as a master device which controls further coupled implant modules.
