Abstract

A system is described for creating a separate data serving space for each mobile carrier in a plurality of mobile carriers. The system may include a processor, a memory and an interface. The memory may store a keyword, a plurality of mobile data items corresponding to the keyword and a plurality of mobile carriers, and a search request. The interface may communicate with a user through a mobile device. The processor may be operatively connected to the interface and the memory and may store the plurality of mobile data items in the memory. The processor may receive a mobile search request from a user via the interface, and may determine the mobile carrier in communication with the interface. The processor may then retrieve the mobile data item corresponding to the keyword and the determined mobile carrier and may serve the retrieved mobile data item to the user.

Claims

1. A method for creating separate data serving spaces for each mobile carrier in a plurality of mobile carriers, comprising:

storing a plurality of mobile data items wherein each mobile data item corresponds to a keyword and a mobile carrier in a plurality of mobile carriers, further wherein each mobile data item in the plurality of mobile data items is formatted for display on a mobile device of the mobile carrier;

receiving a mobile search request for the keyword from a user through the mobile device;

determining a mobile carrier in communication with the mobile device;

retrieving the mobile data item corresponding to the keyword and the determined mobile carrier; and

serving the retrieved mobile data item to the user via the mobile device.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein at least one mobile data item in the plurality of mobile data items comprises a mobile advertisement related to the keyword.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the formatting of the plurality of the mobile data items comprises at least one of WML, XHTML, iMode HTML and cHTML.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein the formatting of the mobile data item is based a mobile technology supported by the mobile phone and the mobile carrier in communication with the mobile phone.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein at least one mobile carrier in the plurality of mobile carriers supports a formatting of a mobile page different from at least one other mobile carrier in the plurality of mobile carriers.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the search request is received via a short messaging services message.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein determining the mobile carrier in the plurality of mobile carriers in communication with the mobile device further comprises determining the mobile carrier in the plurality of mobile carriers in communication with the mobile device based on the mobile search request.

9. A method for separating mobile traffic generated on a plurality of mobile carriers, comprising:

receiving a mobile traffic from a user via a mobile device connected to a mobile carrier;

determining the mobile carrier the mobile traffic originated from;

communicating a mobile carrier data describing the mobile carrier and the mobile traffic to a data serving system;

retrieving a mobile data, by the data serving system, based on the communicated mobile carrier and the mobile traffic, wherein the mobile data is formatted for display to the user via the mobile device connected to the mobile carrier; and

serving the retrieved mobile data to the user via the mobile device in communication with the mobile carrier.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the mobile traffic comprises a mobile search request for a keyword.

11. The method of claim 10 wherein communicating the mobile carrier data and the mobile traffic to a data serving system further comprises appending a prefix and a separator to the keyword.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein the separator comprises “

13. The method of claim 11 wherein the data serving system comprises an advertisement serving system.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein the advertisement serving system retrieves at least one mobile advertisement relating to the keyword, wherein the mobile advertisement is formatted for display to the user via the mobile device connected to the mobile carrier.

15. The method of claim 9 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

16. A system for creating separate data serving spaces for each mobile carrier in a plurality of mobile carriers, comprising:

a memory to store a keyword, a plurality of mobile data items, wherein each mobile data item in the plurality of data items corresponds to the keyword and a mobile carrier in a plurality of mobile carriers, and a mobile search request;

an interface operatively connected to the memory to communicate with a user through a mobile device of a mobile carrier; and

a processor operatively connected to the memory and the interface, the processing for running instructions, wherein the processor stores the plurality of mobile data items in the memory, receives a mobile search request for the keyword from the user via the interface, determines a mobile carrier in communication with the mobile device based on the mobile search request, retrieves the mobile data item corresponding to the keyword and the determined mobile carrier, and serves the retrieved mobile data item to the user via the interface.

17. The system of claim 16 wherein at least one mobile data item in the plurality of mobile data items comprises a mobile advertisement related to the keyword.

18. The system of claim 16 wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone.

19. The system of claim 18 wherein the formatting of the mobile data item is based a technology supported by the mobile phone.

20. The system of claim 16 wherein the mobile search request is received in a short messaging services message.
