1. One or more computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed, perform a method in a clinical environment for selectively associating content items with pre-configured alternatives based upon directed user input, the method comprising:

  • receiving a first content item;

    determining a plurality of pre-configured alternatives for association with the first content item, wherein each of the plurality of pre-configured alternatives is determined utilizing one or more of pre-configured content, facility- and personnel-specific content, a facility and personnel profile, and informational assistance data;

    presenting the plurality of pre-configured alternatives for user selection;

    receiving user selection of one of the plurality of pre-configured alternatives for association with the first content item;

    receiving a second content item; and

    determining at least one pre-configured alternative for association with the second content item, wherein the at least one-preconfigured alternative is a member of the plurality of pre-configured alternatives but is not the one of the plurality of pre-configured alternatives selected by the user for association with the first content item.
